The Kishkinda Trust

The Kishkinda Trust TKT runs several unique programs, which are seamlessly integrated with the lives of the local people and that empower them economically.

Working with grassroots communities developing integrated systems for sustainable livelihoods, architectural conservation, crafts, and education through performing arts, etc., in the village Anegundi- a part of Hampi WHS At The Kishkinda Trust (TKT) in Anegundi, CONSERVATION empowers communities and creates a way of life that considers culture as an integral element permeating all activities in li

fe- ranging from functional to ideational- ecology, cuisine, crafts, design, agriculture, technology, education, markets and festivals. Founded in the year 1997 by Shama Pawar, The Kishkinda Trust (TKT) assists the villagers of Anegundi at a grassroots level to build capacity in order to maintain business incubators and to conserve their historical heritage. TKT focuses intensively on the capacity building of the locals, the villagers, across multidisciplinary fields of creative and cultural industries- architectural conservation, heritage restoration, crafts and design, management and hospitality, so that their lives are nurtured, enriched and empowered by their own culture and identities. In this process of reaffirming ties between tradition, everyday commerce and the quality of life, they shall share their fruits of labor with the visitors in the celebration called ‘LIFE’.

For over 25 years, children’s camps by TKT have been a space children return to—year after year—something they deeply look forward to. 🌿 # support # summer camp # children of Kishkinda
In the landscape of Kishkinda of Hampi, these camps bring children together to explore nature, express through art and theatre, and build a sense of community and care.
They come back for the friendships, the freedom to create, and the joy of learning together. Along the way, they grow in confidence, creativity, and their understanding of the environment around them.
This summer, we hope to continue this journey with a 2-month camp (May–June 2026) at Hanuman Halli— for 50 children, guided by 6 dedicated mentors.
✨ Your support can help keep this space alive

Atop the serene slopes of Rishimukh Hill...

We’ve been tending to the trees planted last year, replacing a few, giving support where needed and planting vetiver around their roots to hold the soil steady. Each sapling is part of a larger dream: to revive the forest of Kishkinda.

The trees we plant are chosen with care. Especially those loved by the monkeys who call this land home. With every root that takes hold, we hope for more green cover to rise and gently resist the creeping spread of concrete.

This week, a few volunteers joined us at Hanuman Halli to help clean, plant and protect. We’re grateful for every hand, every step, every seed.

A forest grew on our stage. A forest made of lively trees, masks and the bold voices of children.
ಕಿಷ್ಕಿಂಧಾ ಬನ (The Kishkindha Forest) was more than a play. It was a journey. Of learning lines, building friendships and finding the courage to be seen.

What began as scattered scripts and shy voices blossomed into something unforgettable. We watched as the children took ownership of their stories, their roles and the moment, mesmerizing everyone in the audience.

Thank you to the artisans, community members, donors and every helping hand who helped turn our summer camp into something magical.

The big day is almost here ✨

With just hours to go, our Summer Camp kids are slipping into their costumes, giggling and a little nervous. Fabric sways, face paint smudges and characters come alive in the mirror.

Lines are getting crisper. Movements, more intentional. The play is no longer just a practice. It’s a heartbeat.

Tomorrow, they take the stage.

The skies have cleared but the earth still hums with yesterday’s rain.
The Children have returned to their grounds, barefoot, brushing with their feet.

"To hail the friendly rain;

And spreading wide their jewelled trains,

With the love-play of the kiss and embrace.

They hold their gorgeous dance parade."

Rain, the quencher of Mother Earth, has been celebrated since prehistoric times across the world. It has nourished, connected, and inspired us since time immemorial.

Here in Kishkinda, even a heavy downpour can’t dampen the spirit of our Summer Camp's young performers. They dance, sing, and play — rain-soaked and filled with joy.

What happens when summer meets soil, sketch pens and stagecraft?

At the Kishkinda Trust, our camp is filled with colours, curiosity, and a lot of smiles and giggles. The kids from the local community are painting their worlds and practising for a play that is Green approved!

Young girls with big dreams are picking up brushes, learning the craft and stepping into the shoes of future artisans.

From muddy fingers to painted skies, one brushstroke at a time.
