"A Step Towards Stronger Families"
We are proud to share that HUMANITY... The Ultimate Faith (HUF) has established its first Skill Development Centres under the Family Strengthening Initiative in District Anantnag, at Kehribal and Cheerpora villages. Through this initiative, 70 young vulnerable women have been registered for training in Paper Mache Work, creating opportunities for them to support their families and ensure better care for vulnerable children. This is more than skill development, it is a step towards strengthening families, preventing family separation, and building sustainable livelihoods.

On 5th February, HUF successfully organized a one-day capacity-building training of CPGs on Child Protection and Alternative Care at DK Marg, Kulgam, as part of its ongoing initiative to strengthen community-based child protection mechanisms.
The training brought together 55 members of Child Protection Groups (CPGs) and focused on enhancing their understanding of child protection systems, identification of children at risk, referral mechanisms, and family-based alternative care options, including kinship and foster care. As a result, participants demonstrated improved knowledge and clarity on their roles and responsibilities in safeguarding vulnerable children within their communities.

A significant outcome of the training was the active participation of members from the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Kulgam, who facilitated a dedicated session on Mission Vatsalya, outlining government-supported child protection services and procedures. This engagement played a critical role in bridging gaps between community structures and government child protection systems, fostering stronger coordination, trust, and collaboration.

The interaction enabled CPG members to directly engage with statutory authorities, gain clarity on referral pathways, and better understand collaboration with CWCs for timely case reporting and follow-up. This strengthened linkage is expected to improve responsiveness and effectiveness in addressing child protection concerns at the community level.
