Assistant Director, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Anantnag today visited PEG-II Shumhal, Anantnag to review the lifting of ration. He was accompanied by a team of officials.To ensure quality supply, random sampling of rice was also conducted at the godown.
In view of upcoming *Eid Ul Adha*, the last date for distribution of ration has been extended upto the end of this month. All consumers are advised to collect their entitled quota from their respective Fair Price Shops before the last date.

Department is committed to ensure timely and quality ration supply to all beneficiaries.

Pahalgam, May 10: Shri Saurabh Bhagat, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to Government, Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, conducted an extensive tour of Pahalgam to assess the ground situation of various developmental activities being executed by the Department and to review preparedness for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2026.

Commissioner Secretary to Government Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Jammu and Kashmir was accompanied by Assistant Director FCS&CA Anantnag, Malik Muzafar (JKAS), TSO Pahalgam, Sajad Ahmad Geeri, along with a team of officials.
During the visit, he inspected ongoing works related to augmentation of storage infrastructure, repair/renovation of departmental assets, and other logistics arrangements being put in place for ensuring seamless supply of foodgrains and other essential commodities during SANJY-2026.

He also carried out a surprise inspection of the Pahalgam Granary, which functions as the main dumping site for storage and dispatch of foodgrains for Yatra Langars, service providers, and government establishments enroute the Holy Cave. He took stock of the available stock position, quality control measures, fire-safety equipment and security of the premises.
Expressing satisfaction over the arrangements, Commissioner Secretary to Government Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Jammu and Kashmir directed the officers to ensure 100% advance dumping of required foodgrains and petroleum products well before the commencement of Yatra. He emphasized strict adherence to quality norms, round-the-clock monitoring of stocks, and maintaining adequate buffer to meet any exigency.
He further instructed the field functionaries to work in close coordination with District Administration Anantnag, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, and other stakeholder departments to ensure hassle-free services to the pilgrims and local population.
He later on carried out inspection of various sale outlets in Pahalgam and visited the office of Assistant Director FCS&CA at Anantnag. During the visit, he directed Assistant Director Anantnag for identification of land for Establishment of Research Institute at Anantnag for FCS&CA Employees to enhance capacity building and professional competence of the workforce.The Institute will serve as a center of excellence for in-service training of departmental employees on modern supply chain management, foodgrain quality control, e-PoS operations, end-to-end computerization of PDS, grievance redressal mechanisms, and best practices in public distribution.

Anantnag, May 09: In a strong resolve to realize the vision of “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir”, a Mega Pad Yatra was organized today at Anantnag under the aegis of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
Shri Saurabh Bhagat, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to Government, Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, and District Mentor for Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Anantnag District, participated in the Pad Yatra and participated actively along with district officers, students, civil society members, youth clubs and volunteers.
Hundreds of participants, carrying banners, placards and raising anti-drug slogans, sent a powerful message against the growing menace of substance abuse.
Shri Saurabh Bhagat, IAS, said that the UT Administration under the leadership of Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Sh. Manoj Sinha is committed to make J&K a drug-free society. He stressed that drug abuse not only destroys the individual but shatters families and weakens the social fabric. He called upon all stakeholders – parents, teachers, religious heads, and youth – to act as ambassadors in this fight and channelize young energy towards education, sports, and constructive pursuits.

The District Mentor also took stock of the activities being undertaken under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in the district. He interacted with students from various schools and colleges, NCC/NSS cadets, and members of de-addiction counselling teams, and lauded their role in spreading awareness at grassroots level.
He further reiterated the Government’s zero-tolerance policy towards drug trafficking and assured that rehabilitation and counselling facilities are being strengthened in the district for affected individuals.
The event concluded with a collective pledge by all participants to work towards a “Nasha Mukt Anantnag, Nasha Mukt J&K”.

In the interest of public convenience and to streamline the distribution of domestic LPG cylinders, it is hereby notified for information of all consumers and LPG distributors of District Anantnag that a *fixed delivery roster* shall be enforced w.e.f *01-05-2026*.
All LPG distributors operating in Anantnag District shall deliver domestic LPG cylinders strictly as per the enclosed day-wise/area-wise roster.
Any violation of the roster, overcharging, or denial of supply shall attract action under Clause 3 of the _Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Order, 2000_ read with _Essential Commodities Act, 1955_.
