The Hub & Spoke model of aviation by Air India was inaugurated today. This washes down the consistent demand of Punjab travellers, diaspora, overseas students and pilgrims to Harmander Sahib, Amritsar, to have direct flights to international destinations, such as Australia, Toronto, Vancouver, New York among other disapora hubs. Amritsar was just declared a Spoke to the Delhi Hub.

2026 ਦੀ ਬਸੰਤ, ਅਤੇ ਗਰਮੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਭਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਣੀ
Naysayers of Climate Change be warned that the reality is hitting hard.
This spring season temperature in Punjab is above normal by 5/6 %, and in Himachal a staggering 15%, with February rainfall deficit of 84%.
The impact of global climate divergence, a hot spring in India and cold snaps in the western world, wheat harvests will be much lower worldwide.
And this is only the beginning as El Nino factor is expected to set in by July, suggesting longer summers and higher temperatures...
Is anyone working on Climate Change challenges, planning the crop diversification incentives or even recognising the impact on energy and water, especially on the farmlands of Punjab, the food bowl of the nation?
One thing is for sure though, its farm produce is back in reckoning for a nation who has played an ignorant mother for decades!

ਇਸ ਬਸੰਤ ਰੁੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਪਮਾਨ ਆਮ ਨਾਲੋਂ 5/6% ਵੱਧ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਹਿਮਾਚਲ ਵਿੱਚ 15% ਹੈਰਾਨੀਜਨਕ ਵਾਧਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਫਰਵਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਰਿਸ਼ ਦੀ ਘਾਟ 84% ਸੀ।

After 64 years Punjab gets a Sainik School. Kapurthala was the first one that was established in 1961.
Indeed a privilege to be the Chief Guest at the parent institution, raise the national flag and inspect the Guard of Honour on the 77th Republic Day.
Kudos to Prin. AP Singh Gill and his entire team for a seamless program of utmost significance.

26 ਜਨਵਰੀ 2026 ਨੂੰ 77ਵੇਂ ਗਣਤੰਤਰ ਦਿਵਸ ਤੇ ਮੂਲ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਬਣਨਾ, ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਝੰਡਾ ਲਹਿਰਾਉਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਗਾਰਡ ਆਫ਼ ਆਨਰ ਦਾ ਨਿਰੀਖਣ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ।

A legend passes on...
There are but a few people who feel for the community, devise ways to convey the thought, and institutionalise the effort through their life, spending their own resources to encourage and motivate talent.

On interacted with him on many different fora. A self made man, a good man, devoid of rancour, he served the society in many different ways.

Theatre was close to Sardar Jatinder Singh Brar. He selflessly donated space at his factory and built on it the Punjab Naatshala giving opportunity to the artist and the playwright.

He was recognised by the state and the nation. The community at large owes this philanthropist a debt of gratitude. This was indeed a lifetime well spent. Farewell Brar Sahib, you will be missed.

ਸਰਦਾਰ ਜਤਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਰਾੜ ਨਾਲ ਕਈ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਮੰਚਾਂ ਤੇ ਵਿਚਰਨ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਇੱਕ ਸਵੈ-ਨਿਰਮਿਤ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤ, ਇੱਕ ਚੰਗੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਆਤਮਾ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਈ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ।

ਥੀਏਟਰ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਜਤਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਰਾੜ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਬੇਹਤਰੀਨ ਸ਼ੌਕ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਿਰਸਵਾਰਥ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਫੈਕਟਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨਾਟਸ਼ਾਲਾ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਕੀਤਾ | ਇਸ ਮਨਸੂਬੇ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ, ਸਗੋਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਤਨ ਦੇ, ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਟਕਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਕਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਸੀ। ਵੱਡੇ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਾ ਇਸ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਕਰਜ਼ਦਾਰ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵਧੀਆ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਾਲ ਸੀ। ਅਲਵਿਦਾ ਬਰਾੜ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਯਾਦ ਆਵੇਗੀ।
