अवगुन एक मोर मैं माना। बिछुरत प्रान न कीन्ह पयाना॥"

अर्थ:

सीता जी हनुमान जी से प्रभु श्री राम के वियोग में अपनी पीड़ा व्यक्त करती हैं। वह कहती हैं— "मैंने अपना एक अवगुण (दोष) माना है, और वह यह है कि श्री राम से बिछुड़ते ही मेरे प्राणों ने शरीर नहीं छोड़ दिया (अर्थात मैं अभी तक जीवित हूँ)।"

अगली पंक्ति में वह इसका कारण भी बताती हैं:

"नाथ सो नयनन्हि कर अपराधा। निसरत प्रान करहिं हठि बाधा॥"

अर्थ:

"हे नाथ (श्री राम)! प्राण न निकलने का दोष इन नेत्रों का है, क्योंकि प्रभु के दर्शन की आस में ये प्राणों को निकलने से हठपूर्वक रोकते हैं।"
