The right to dissent has become unlawful, while Yogi's bulldozer justice is rampant.*
Javed Muhammad a leader of the Welfare Party of India and father of Afreen Fatima, (former Chairperson of AMU Women's College and National vise precident of Fraternity Movement) has been unjustly imprisoned for one year. Javed, a prominent face in the 2020 anti CAA protests in Allahabad has accused of being the mastermind behind protests against derogatory remarks made by BJP leaders against Prophet Muhammed. Following Javed Saheb's unjust arrest, his wife and daughters were also apprehended by the police. The UP police went as far as making comments suggesting a father-daughter propaganda. To add to their distress, their house was bulldozed to ground by Prayagraj Development Authority. Additionally, the request to perform the last rites of his deceased father was denied by the district court. The judiciary is also continuously denying the bail petitions by sticking to the fabricated evidences and claims. The right to dissent has become unlawful, while Yogi's bulldozer justice is rampant. When the actual culprits were touched no harm, the dissent against the venomous statements had labelled as crime and found unlawful act. *Fraternity Movement AMU extends our solidarity* to Javed Saheb's family in this tough time, and proudly appreciate the resilence and contagious faith the family mounts. We firmly argue to compensate the trauma and loss happened to the family with speedy recovery. In particular context, Fraternity AMU demands the release of all political prisoners who are jailed for unjust reasons.
