Ganpati Utsav with a Purpose!

Today, Snehalaya’s Udaan Project conducted a Child Marriage Awareness Campaign across Ganpati Mandals in the city, distributing informative pamphlets and spreading awareness about the harmful consequences of child marriage.

Alongside this, our team conducted outreach for the safety and protection of women and girls during the festive celebrations.

JOSEPH JUSTICE (Leeds Beckett Volunteer) – MY TIME AT SNEHALAYA

What happens when a young volunteer from the UK swaps university life for two action-packed weeks at Snehalaya?

For Leeds Beckett University student Joseph Justice, the answer was plenty of sport, laughter, new friendships — and a crash course in Kabaddi!
Joseph threw himself into life at Snehalaya, sharing his love of rugby and sport with our children, joining the Hi5 youngsters, spending time at Sneh-Sparsh and getting involved wherever he could.
In this short video, we look back at Joseph’s time with us and hear from the man himself about his Snehalaya experience.

LOVE, LOYALTY & A FAMILY BOND THAT NEVER FADES ❤️

Our Vaibhav married his beautiful bride, Prerna, surrounded by love, laughter and one very special group of people — his friends and fellow Snehalaya alumni.

They may have grown up and moved on from Snehalaya, but they have never moved away from one another. Through thick and thin, that bond has remained. They reunite, celebrate birthdays together, turn up for weddings and are there for each other when it really matters.

That is what makes occasions like this so special.

Over the years, we have watched many of our young people grow into wonderful men and women, build lives of their own, marry and start families. One of the greatest joys is seeing them return to Snehalaya gatherings — now with their own little toddlers in tow.

There is an unspoken bond between them, something shared through growing up together that perhaps only they can fully understand. They are friends, brothers, sisters — family.

Snehalaya has helped shape some truly remarkable young women and men, and we could not be prouder of the people they have become.

HE’S BACK!
BIGGER, BETTER & BRIGHTER THAN EVER!
After waiting a whole year, our boys at Sneh-Sparsh welcomed Lord Ganesh back with their usual incredible enthusiasm and excitement!
There were smiles, celebrations and plenty of energy as Ganpati returned to his Snehalaya family.
There was also a surprise visit from a special supporter.
And we know one thing for certain — the next 10 days are going to be filled with fun, games, laughter and wonderful memories.
