CHETNA NGO CHETNA* meaning “awareness” in several Indian languages and an acronym for Centre for Health Education, Training and Nutrition Awareness.

Centre for Health, Education, Training and Nutrition Awareness (CHETNA), is a non-government support organisation which raises nutrition and health consciousness among disadvantaged social sections since more then 30 years. It does this through capacity enhancement of Government and Civil Society organisations using participatory training and learning approaches. CHETNA forges strategic partnershi

facilitates dialogue among key stakeholders for people-centred, gender-sensitive nutrition and health policies and programmes at State,
National, Regional and International levels. Initiated its work in 1980 CHETNA was established in 1984, CHETNA addresses issues of women’s health and development in different stages of their lives from a “Rights” perspective. CHETNA is an activity of the Nehru Foundation for Development, which is a public charitable trust, registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950.
