On 17th December 2025, Ms. Sonya Fernandes, Chief Program Officer and Ms. Asha Dinesh, Trustee from Ashraya Hastha Trust visited the Development Support Centre (DSC), Manawar Unit to understand the project activities under Building Agroecological Capacities for Climate-Vulnerable Farmers, being implemented in Manawar block of Dhar and Sondwa block of Alirajpur district.

During the field visit, the team visited a natural farming demonstration plot in Devra village, located on farmer Mukesh’s field. The plot showcased wheat intercropped with gram, with maize as a border crop, cultivated using locally prepared bio-inputs. This demonstration plot is emerging as a live learning model for nearby farmers.

The visit also marked the inauguration of the Bio-Resource Center (BRC) at Udiyapur village. Women’s groups associated with the BRC are engaged in the production of bio-inputs such as Prahar (bio-pesticide) and Bhim Tonic (plant growth promoter). These initiatives are supporting farmers in reducing chemical dependency and lowering cultivation costs.

The day concluded with a community interaction meeting involving SHG women, Pashu Sakhis, and BRC members. Discussions focused on natural farming practices, women’s leadership, and community-based bio-input production, highlighting the project’s impact on sustainable agriculture and livelihoods.

DSC's Executive Director, Shri Mohan Sharma Honoured to be a Panelist at the Sujalam Bharat National Summit, 29th November, 2025!

DSC Grateful for the opportunity to contribute as a panelist in the session on “Community and Institutional Engagement for Behaviour Change” at the 2-day Sujalam Bharat National Summit, organised by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, RD & GR, Govt. of India at Mandapam, New Delhi.

Mohan Ji had the privilege of sharing DSC’s rich experiences and learnings from work across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, through initiatives such as PIM, Atal Bhujal Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, IWMP, and various collaborative projects with CSR partners.

Key Insight Shared:
The future of impactful behaviour change lies in a robust model of Measurement → Analysis → Sharing → Adoption, combined with long-term community engagement.
It was encouraging to see that the Honourable Ministers strongly resonated with the key recommendations emerging from all technical sessions—reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening community-led water governance.
Village Water Budgeting and Water Numeracy will continue to be central pillars in nurturing local leadership through science and technology inputs—because infrastructure alone cannot resolve complex water challenges. Sustainable solutions come from informed, empowered communities.
Inspired by the collective energy at the summit, and looking forward to deeper collaboration toward a water-secure and resilient India.

🌾 Millet Sisters – Narmada Café ( Alirajpur) 🌾
A vibrant collective of tribal women from Alirajpur, promoted under the Miracle Millet initiative in collaboration with DSC and WHH, was invited to serve traditional millet cuisine at the Regional Workshop on Governance attended by Axis Bank Foundation partners at DSC, Bopal–Ahmedabad.

Their Satvik Millet Thali—featuring Bajara Laddoo, Millet Cookies, Jowar Kheer, Udad Dal, Bajara & Jowar Rotalo, Kadhi, and Tribal Chutneys—won hearts with its authentic taste, health benefits, and cultural richness.

As a token of respect, the guests honoured the women with shawls and extended heartfelt wishes for their growing enterprise. ✨

This inspiring group has earlier served millet meals to Hon. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, MP & Minister Nagar Singh Chauhan, senior district officials and Agricultural University representatives.

Today, they are preparing to reach more people with delicious, healthy, traditional millet-based food—reviving heritage and empowering women through dignified livelihoods. 🌾

Farmer Collectives Brainstormed for Micro Food Processing in Convergence with Government Schemes (Local food processing builds climate-resilient rural income, nutrition and village circular economy)

A workshop under the PMFME Yojana (Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises) was organised by Development Support Centre (DSC), at Swaminarayan Mandir, Himmatnagar (Gujarat) on 14th November 2025, aligning government policies with real community needs to strengthen rural livelihoods through village-based food processing.

The session was conducted by Mr. Hetal Pathak (EDI), with participation and guidance from Mr. Mohan Sharma, Executive Director – DSC, Shri Lalit Patel, Chairman – Krushidhan FPO, thematic leaders, and Team DSC Gujarat.

The workshop enabled farmers, SHGs and FPO leaders to explore opportunities for micro food processing units, subsidy and credit access, documentation needs, and pathways to start low-cost enterprises that retain value within villages and generate green income.

103 lead farmers (60 Male | 43 Female) from Sabarkantha, Mehsana & Aravalli participated.
