Background
National peace group mission is how can we bring Peace and Communal Harmony in sensitive/ conflict areas. In order to make peace and awareness among people we are suing street play and awareness songs to aware people but just doing the street play on communal issues it will never sustain, However, we tried to see what are the social issues in our areas than we came
to know that there are several other social issues are exist which are affecting our society such as Domestic Violence, lack of Education in the marginalized societies, Women Empowerment, HIV/AIDS, Child Labor, Livelihood, Humanity. In recent times this form has been used to propagate social and political awareness to create good understanding amongst the masse. Street theatre breaks the formal barriers and approaches the people directly to think beyond their boundaries. We do street play such as nearby vegetable market, evening walk, bus stop, Gali (Chawl) mahallas (Area) and street and in front of office too. They are not just philanthropists providing free entertainment but our group is dedicated to work with this marginalize people and create awareness. About National Peace Group
We are working since after 2002 Riots. After 2002 Riots we are working as a voluntarily in different NGO and involve peace related activity like Inter Religious Prayer, Interfaith Dialogue, Festival Celebration (Diwali, Eid and Christmas), Peace Exposure Visit, Summer camp, Leadership training, gender training, Right based approach training and Seed of Peace Camp for Youth. National Peace Group has been form in 2009 and committed to work on street play in order to make peace. We have been done 16 Street plays across the 150 villages of Gujarat and Ahmedabad City also for different subject such as Child Labour, Women Empowerment, HIV/AIDS, Human Rights, Peace Building and Communal Harmony. Facing problems during street play
Street play is a platform where the audience has not come prepared to watch a play, we call them and they come just for fun but our duty is to provide them fun along with specific message. People may not have much time to see the play also that’s why we always try to be a creative. In our National Peace Group we have 8(Eight) street players and 2(two) are volunteers. In our street play we don’t wear any particular dress for any particular role but all the members who are in the street play they just wear a long Kurta and Jeans or Trousers because we are not funded by any organization. National Peace Group also organized different activities such as Peace through Cricket tournament, Festival celebration, Youth celebration, N.G.Os. We have directly working with community youth and children to reach our goal and organizing peace related activities. The following activities has been done in last five years are given below.
