Building Futures with Care 🌈

We’re delighted to share that CHETNA, in association with Naik Charitable Trust, has initiated a Day Care Centre (DCC) for the children of construction workers at the Anil Naik Technical Training Center (ANTTC) Hostel construction site, Kharel, Navsari Gujarat

This centre provides a safe, nurturing, and stimulating space for children — including infants below 1 year — whose parents have migrated from other districts of Gujarat and even neighboring states like Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh in search of livelihood opportunities.
While parents work hard at the site, especially women workers, they now have the peace of mind knowing their little ones are cared for, well-fed, and learning in a secure environment. Mothers can breastfeed their babies during breaks, ensuring continued bonding and healthy growth— supporting both economic empowerment and emotional well-being.

Together, we’re not just building structures —
we’re building safety, dignity, and brighter futures for every child and every mother.

🌟 From Idea to Impact: The Gender Wall is Now a Reality! 🌟

At CHETNA, we introduced the Gender Wall in Anganwadi and Day Care Centres — not just as a colorful, print-rich space, but as a way to nurture gender equity from early childhood.

When our CSR partners began constructing new Anganwadi Centres, we encouraged them to adopt this concept – and they did. 🙌

With simple yet powerful messages like:
✅ “ઘરનું કામ સૌનું કામ” (Household work is everyone’s work)

The Gender Wall spreads awareness about gender equality, child rights, and shared responsibilities.

✨ Today, this idea has grown into a movement — accepted by ICDS, embraced by CSR, and painted proudly in newly built Anganwadis.

Together, we are shaping young minds and building an equal future. 💜

🌟 A Step Ahead in Day Care Centres – CHETNA’s First DCC at a Construction Site! 🌟

Construction workers build our homes, roads, and cities with dedication… but who looks after their children while they work? 🤔

On 22nd August 2025, Naik Charitable Trust and CHETNA together turned this question into reality by inaugurating the first Day Care Centre (DCC) for children of construction workers at the Anil Naik Technical Training Centre, Kharel, Navsari, Gujarat. 🎉

The event was graced by:
✨ Mr. Sanjay Desai (CAO, AMNHHC)
✨ Mr. Winny Rawal (Chief Executive, ANTTC)
✨ Representatives from Naik Charitable Trust, ANTTC & CHETNA
✨ Construction workers & community members who are the heart of this initiative 💕

💡 What this Day Care Centre offers:
✅ A safe, hygienic, and child-friendly environment
✅ Play-based joyful learning activities 🎲
✅ Strong ECCE foundation through structured routines 📚
✅ Relief for parents – peace of mind while they work 🛠️

This is not just a centre, it’s a movement – nurturing childhood while empowering parents. 🌈

✨ Imagine if every construction site had such a space for children… Together, we can make this possible! ✨

"Chhote Kadam, Badi Soch –
Humare Chhote Deshbhakt!
(Small steps, big thoughts – Our little patriots!)

At Anganwadi & Day Care Centres, Independence Day was more than flags and songs — it was about empathy, gratitude, and pride.
Through stories, role play, and joyful play, our little ones felt the courage of our heroes and the value of freedom.

At CHETNA, we believe every mother — whether working in the fields, at home, or in any workplace — deserves the right to breastfeed her child with dignity, confidence, and care. 💜

✅ Breastfeeding is a universal right.
✅ It needs community support, health system commitment, and encouragement from families.
✅ Together, we can build environments where mothers feel informed, respected, and valued.

This World Breastfeeding Week, we pledge to:
✨ Support mothers and caregivers in every setting
✨ Strengthen community counselling and peer support networks

Because when we priorities breastfeeding, we invest in healthier generations and a stronger future for all.

💚 Let’s stand together to create sustainable support systems for every mother and child.

CHETNA – Nurturing Futures through Early Childhood Development 🔹

At CHETNA, we believe every child deserves the best start in life — and that journey begins well before school.

Through our partnerships with Anganwadi centers, caregivers, and communities, we’re witnessing how investing in Early Childhood Development (ECD) creates lasting change — in homes, in schools, and across society.

💡 Why ECD?

🧠 90% of brain development happens before age 5
🎓 Early learning lays the foundation for school success
🌱 Holistic care builds a healthier, happier future
📈 Every ₹1 invested in ECD returns up to ₹10 in social and economic benefits

✨ Our Focus at CHETNA
✔️ Structured preschool learning
✔️ Nutrition, health & play-based development
✔️ Training & capacity building of Anganwadi Workers
✔️ Parental involvement & community awareness

ECD is not just a child issue — it’s a national priority.

Let’s keep working together — NGOs, government, corporates & communities — to ensure every child not only survives but thrives. 💛

Youth Voices Are Breaking the Silence! 🩸🗣️

At CHETNA, we believe that when young people are given facts, respect, and safe spaces, they become powerful agents of change.

During our recent menstruation awareness session, young participants didn’t just listen — they engaged, understood, and owned their learning.
Using our interactive apron tool, we made biology relatable and busted myths with confidence and clarity.

✨ “No more confusion, no more shame — just knowledge and confidence.”
That’s the kind of feedback that drives our work.

We’re proud to stand with youth who are ready to say:
“Periods are natural. Knowledge is power. And we’re not afraid to talk about it.”

🌟 Empowering SHG Women in Bihar! 🌟

We’re happy to share the success of the Bihar Samooh Sakhi Phase 3 Training, held from May 28–30, 2025, in Rajapakar, Vaishali district.

Organized by Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (India) with technical support from CHETNA, Ahmedabad, this 3-day training brought together 38 women leaders—including Samooh Sakhis, CRPs, and DoS.

👩‍⚕️ Key Highlights:
✅ Health and nutrition across the life cycle
✅ Adolescent health & changes
✅ Gender and health roles
✅ Importance of the first 1,000 days
✅ Practical training on using flipcharts in SHG meetings

🎬 Interactive methods like group discussions, film screenings, and practice sessions helped participants gain knowledge and confidence. Many Samooh Sakhis shared how this was their first experience discussing such topics with their groups—and they now feel ready!

👏 This training was a step forward in building confident, skilled grassroots women leaders who will take health awareness into their communities.
