We took this up as a strategic move to transfer the grass-root level learning acquired by our professionals, to other organizations. This developed our competency to work in different situations and areas. In the year 2000-01, we created an implementation unit of our own, to act as a learning unit for further transfer of experience to other areas. Our organization, which started as a proposed Public Trust, was formally registered during the year 2000-2001

🌱 Strengthening Village Institutions Through Dialogue and Collaboration

Strong village institutions play an important role in ensuring that development initiatives are relevant, inclusive and responsive to community needs.

As part of our ongoing programme in Surendranagar, Gujarat, we conducted awareness meetings with Gram Panchayats to share project progress, discuss upcoming activities and strengthen coordination with village-level institutions.

In 2026, we held awareness meetings with 50 of the 52 Gram Panchayats where we are currently working, with participation from 340+ Gram Panchayat members.

🤝 Key areas discussed included:
🔹Sharing updates on project progress and key achievements
🔹Discussing planned activities and initiatives for the current year
🔹Reviewing learnings and activities from the previous year
🔹Exploring opportunities for collaboration between Gram Panchayats and the project team
🔹Gathering feedback and suggestions from village representatives

These meetings provided an important platform for dialogue, coordination and collective planning, helping strengthen the connection between village institutions and ongoing development initiatives.

🌱 From Preparation to Protection: Surface Drainage Supporting Farmers During the Monsoon

Waterlogging and soil salinity are important challenges faced by farmers in parts of Surendranagar, affecting soil conditions, crop growth and farm productivity.

To address these challenges, Cohesion Foundation Trust (CFT), with support from BMZ Germany and WWF Germany and technical guidance from WWF-India, has been demonstrating Surface Drainage practices with farmers in the Limbdi and Lakhtar blocks of Surendranagar district, Gujarat.

💧 Preparing before the monsoon
Before the onset of the monsoon, 64 demonstrations on sub-surface drainage and trench formation were completed with farmers, involving a total excavation volume of 10,184 m³.
The objective was to improve drainage conditions in fields affected by waterlogging and salinity and to support better management of excess water.

🌧️ Putting the intervention to the test during the monsoon
With the arrival of the monsoon, these interventions are now showing their practical value in the field.
During rainfall events, the drainage trenches are carrying excess water away from waterlogged areas, helping reduce prolonged water stagnation in the fields and supporting better drainage conditions for crops.

This field experience reinforces the importance of pre-monsoon drainage preparation, particularly in areas vulnerable to waterlogging and salinity.

🌱 What can Surface Drainage help achieve?
💧 Reduce prolonged waterlogging and improve drainage
🌱 Lower the water table and support removal of excess salts from the root zone
🌾 Create better soil conditions for root growth and crop development
🚜 Support efficient management of available water
📈 Contribute to improved soil conditions and agricultural productivity over time

(Note* - The intervention is mainly focused on field-level drainage and trench formation to manage excess water. It is not a fully closed subsurface drainage system with underground perforated pipes.)

From building livelihoods to driving change in their villages, communities , each story has been a reminder of the immense strength and potential within every woman.
Through the efforts of Cohesion FoundationTrust , these journeys are not just stories—they are steps toward a more inclusive and empowered future.

"World Water Day 2026 | Save Water, Secure Future"

Cohesion Foundation Trust , Patan, with support from Reliance Foundation celebrated World Water Day on 19–20 March 2026 across 32 villages, engaging 1062 participants including project officials, local leaders, and community members.

The initiative focused on raising awareness about water conservation through village meetings, rallies, and impactful slogans. Communities also actively cleaned and maintained ponds, riverbanks, streets, temples, and water storage areas to protect vital resources.

Key activities in Nana (19 March) and Jasalpur (20 March) showcased strong community participation and ownership.

Cohesion Foundation Team of South Gujarat participated in a dialogue with Dr. from the NATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION Delhi, along with district-level officials from Valsad Gujarat .The discussion focused on challenges in implementing constitutional values for tribal communities.

Key field-level issues were shared, along with practical suggestions based on the experiences of local CSOs. The dialogue emphasized the importance of collaboration between government and NGOs to strengthen access to rights and improve last-mile delivery. CFT also presented its concerns and recommendations based on field learnings.

Cohesion Foundation Trust conducted a special training session for fathers on Sunday (22nd March) under HCLFoundation supported program in GB Nagar district of UP.The session was conducted by renowned child rights expert Ms.
The session aimed to strengthen fathers’ understanding and capacity around key aspects of parenting and child well-being. It covered important topics such as child protection, positive and responsive parenting, and the importance of spending quality time with children.
Fathers were also educated about safe and unsafe touch, and encouraged to maintain regular communication with AWWs and teachers to support their children’s growth and safety.
The session was interactive and insightful, empowering fathers to play a more active and informed role in their children’s lives.

Cohesion Foundation Trust joyfully celebrated Eid at AWCs under HCLFoundation supported program at GB Nagar district of UP ,with the children through a variety of engaging and meaningful activities. The day was filled with creativity as children participated in colouring and drawing, expressing their excitement and understanding of the festival in their own unique ways.
The celebration became even more special with a traditional dastarkhan, where everyone came together to share a festive meal. Parents contributed lovingly by bringing homemade sheerkurma, adding warmth and a sense of community, unity, and togetherness to the occasion. The children thoroughly enjoyed the feast, making the moment both memorable and culturally enriching.

Such celebrations not only bring happiness but also help children learn about traditions, unity, sharing, and mutual respect. It was a day filled with smiles, laughter, and a strong sense of belonging.
