Mangroves are the green guardians of Gujarat’s 1,600 km coastline. From the Gulf of Kutch to the Gulf of Khambhat, these unique coastal ecosystems protect our shores from cyclones and erosion, support rich biodiversity, sustain fisheries and livelihoods, improve water quality, and store significant amounts of carbon.

On this International Mangrove Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to conserving and restoring these invaluable ecosystems for a resilient coastline and a sustainable future.
