Abhisar is the endeavour of a group of committed young women, aiming to provide community service and bringing value to the lives of the underprivileged in society, especially children, women and the elderly. Initial activities undertaken were in conjunction with established NGO's like Manav Sadhna, Gramshree, Visamo Kids, Samvedna, etc. Currently team Abhisar has been actively participating in ac
tivities organised by AProCh (Riverside school), Anand Niketan School, J G International school, Shanti Asiatic school among others. Their support has helped us evolve Abhisar into an organisation noteworthy for its dedication to social causes, especially bringing about change in the attitudes and lives of deprived and disadvantaged children from the lower echelons of society. One of the primary activity of the group is to educate these children about health, hygiene, character-building, good values and more, through entertaining and interactive sessions. Enhancing the general knowledge and awareness among these children through fun based, novel exercises, is the hallmark of Abhisar's activities. In-kind donations are an integral part of the group's philosophy and every member interacts on a personal and intimate level with the children. Outdoor activities and trips are organized to enhance learning through interaction. Recently team Abhisar has undertaken a pilot project at a municipal school in Makarba, where deserving yet deprived children of std.5 and std.6, have been enrolled for regular after-classes. Abhisar has adopted and transformed two classrooms into Fun Learning Zones where children are encouraged to explore and learn beyond standard education. Though the project started only last year, the children under Abhisar have shown remarkable and turnaround progress. The contagiously enthusiastic attitude of the children constantly challenges and inspires us to bridge more such gaps in the society. Team Abhisar is upbeat about several more projects which need to be undertaken to serve society at large. And we are grateful to our patrons, donors, partners, volunteers and friends alike. Thank you for all the support and encouragement. Examples of some of the activities undertaken are :
1. Diwali celebrations at Gandhi ashram through Manav Sadhna, for slum children.
2. Giving baths and lessons in sanitation and hygiene to street children and clothes distribution through Gramshree.
3. Interacting with and educating children of municipal schools and those associated with organizations like Visamo kids and Samvedna.
4. Teaching vocational crafts to the disadvantaged and helping them market their products through exhibitions.
5. Internet usage and computer education for Visamo Kids.
6. Outings to Science city, educational movies etc. for municipal school kids with organisations like Shanti Asiatic school and AProCh(Riverside)
7. Initiating buddy programs and friendly exchanges between children of Makarba municipal school and children of Anand Niketan and J G international school.
8. Helping the kids of Makarba municipal school learn competitive sports, music, dance, elocution, art, craft and general knowledge with excellent volunteers like Mangesh sir, Sangeeta ma'am and many college kids.
9. Teaching Math and English to municipal school kids for a strong foundation and for application in the real world.
10. Donation drives for orphanages and observation homes.
