🌍💧 World Water Day Celebration in Gagodar, Rapar – Empowering Communities for a Water-Secure Future 💧🌿
On this World Water Day (March 22nd), Samerth Charitable Trust proudly organized a community-driven event in Gagodar village, Rapar, Kutch, fostering awareness and action on water conservation and safe drinking water practices.
With 73 participants from 11 villages and 9 vaandhs across the Balasar and Gagodar clusters, the event focused on three critical objectives aimed at equipping communities with practical knowledge:
✅ Rainwater Harvesting for Multiple Uses
Understanding the various techniques to capture, store, and utilize rainwater effectively for:
🔹 Drinking water – Ensuring access to safe and clean water.
🔹 Irrigation – Enhancing agricultural resilience in drought-prone regions.
🔹 Groundwater recharge – Revitalizing depleting water sources.
✅ Water Safety & the Boiling Technique
Communities often rely on wells, ponds, and Narmada water storage tanks, but bacterial contamination remains a serious health concern. Through a live demonstration, we showcased the boiling technique—a simple yet effective way to ensure water is safe for drinking. This session encouraged participants to rethink traditional filtration methods and adopt safer practices for their families.
✅ Community Knowledge Sharing & Action :
An interactive group activity allowed participants to exchange knowledge on innovative rainwater harvesting techniques suited to their local conditions. Discussions emphasized water conservation as a shared responsibility, ensuring that both individuals and communities actively participate in securing their water future.
🎙️ Insights from Our Esteemed Guests
The event was honored by thought leaders who emphasized the importance of water conservation and responsible usage:

🚀 Creating Sustainable Change
This event was more than just a celebration—it was a step towards building water-resilient communities. By integrating traditional knowledge with scientific methods, we are collectively working towards a water-secure future for the region.
💙 Let’s continue to conserve, protect, and use water responsibly. Every drop counts!
