Mahendra kadia 1956 - 2019
Born in India’s first world heritage city Ahmedabad in 1956. Late. Shri Mahendra Kadia was an artist with a unique and passionate vision in painting graduated from Sheth C. N. College of Fine Arts, Ahmedabad in 1983. Painting by Mahendra Kadia is full of sky touch imagination and powerful expression. He had been bestowed with several awards in college and throughout his life including the ’National Awards’.
The veteran artist - Mahendra Kadia’s life was an unconventional journey of an artist Finding his lifes’s purpose through the process of art, which is well reflected in the way his artistic style emerged back over the last four decades. His realistic figuration of birds started fluttering in untamed motion on canvas to take the form of controlled lines. He went through a time-honoured journey to evolve his lines into strokes and fluttering and flying birds into flowing emotions.
From serving as a professor at the C.N. College of Fine Arts to the honour Director of L & P Hutheesing Visual Art Center, his persistence in artistic pursuits is an inspiring tale for all the artists. On January ’18, his retrospective in Ahmedabad received quite a fame and stature.
