Raksha Bandhan is about celebrating the bonds that make us feel seen, valued, and cared for.

This year, the Wagh Bakri Foundation celebrated the spirit of Raksha Bandhan with women staff members and girls from institutions supporting persons with disabilities in Ahmedabad, sharing moments of warmth, togetherness and joy.

The celebrations took place at Blind People’s Association on 18th August, with Ms. Vidisha Desai, Apang Manav Mandal on 19th August, with Ms. Parisha Desai, and Andhkanya Prakash Gruh School on 24th August, with Mr. Shrinath Desai.

From thoughtful gestures to heartfelt smiles, every moment was a reminder that apnapan is for everyone.

We are proud to be part of this meaningful initiative by the Federation of All India Tea Traders Association (FAITTA) in support of communities affected by the flood in Assam.

Led by Shri Paras Desai, (Chairman- FAITTA, & Executive Director, Wagh Bakri Tea Group), the FAITTA delegation contributed ₹81.36 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF), Assam for flood relief activities and met with Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma to discuss key matters concerning the tea trade and industry.

FAITTA, the national apex body of the tea trade in India, brings together stakeholders across the tea value chain and works towards strengthening the industry through greater transparency, responsible practices and compliance with food safety standards.

The initiative also calls upon regional tea associations across the country to contribute towards the relief efforts, further strengthening this collective endeavour by the tea fraternity.

At Wagh Bakri, we believe that standing together in times of need is a responsibility we all share.

Proud to contribute to this collective effort and stand in solidarity with the people of Assam.

Strengthening Bonds Through Meaningful Community Engagement
As part of our Pre-Raksha Bandhan initiative, a special celebration was organized at Apang Manav Mandal, Ahmedabad, bringing together students and employees in the spirit of inclusion, care and togetherness.

Ms. Parisha Desai joined the celebration and shared gift packs with the students of Apang Manav Mandal, adding warmth, happiness and joy to the occasion.

On 29 July 2026, Shri Bhushan Punani, Director – Gujarat Tea Processors & Packers Ltd. (Wagh Bakri Tea Group), inaugurated the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Centre for Children with Disabilities at Sayla, implemented by Ashirvad Viklang Trust.

Building on the positive impact of our Kapadvanj Centre, this is the second comprehensive rehabilitation centre supported by Wagh Bakri Foundation, extending support through sub-centres at Limbdi, Joravarnagar and Porbandar.

With rehabilitation, speech therapy, physiotherapy, education support, vocational & computer training, parent counselling and guidance on government schemes, the centre will empower children with disabilities towards greater independence and a better quality of life.
