On this day of 13 Feb 1996, the language of Bishnupriya Manipuri, an "Endangered Language" as per UNESCO, spoken by a Microscopic Minority community of Bishnupriya Manipuri of the NE states of the Union of India was granted to be taught as a language in the primary level of schools at Bishnupriya Manipuri inhabited areas of the state, by the than Govt. of Tripura. Today on 13 Feb 2026 on recognition by the Govt. of Tripura, it was observed as " Bhasha Divas" of Bishnupriya Manipuri under the aegis of Dte. Kokborok & OML, Department of School Education, Govt. of Tripura, on the initiatives of Advisory Committee on Development of Bishnupriya Manipri Language. We are grateful to all concerned and the Govt. of Tripura for this act which has emanated a ray of hope in the hearts and minds of the population of the community towards rejuvenation of the dying language from the jaws of its extinction by celebrating the day at the state capital of Agartala on the 79th year our Indendance !

আমার পারস্পরিক হস্ত-শিল্পরে রক্ষা, স্বনির্ভর বার স্বরোজগারর পথে, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India'র সহযোগিতায়, আমার দ্বিতীয় বেচ্-হান্ 30-গ বেয়াপারে, মাহা-আহানর "Design and Technology Development Workshop" (DDW) এর তলে "Tribal Artistic Textiles"-এ আমার পারস্পরিক ফুতি বুনানিৎ Design Development'র মাহা-আহানর workshop-হানর সমাপণ অনুষ্ঠান-হান্ ত্রিপুরার, কুমারঘাট'র নিদেবীতে 27/01/2026 এ অয়া-গেল্গা । আর্-আর্ বিশিষ্ট মানুর মাঝে Shri Nandiya Shraman Chakma, SDM Kumarghat, অনুষ্ঠান-হান্ ঙালকরেদেছিল্গা । আমার এ সামাজিক কাম-এহান্ সফল করার পিঠীৎ জড়িত হাব্বিরে আত্-জোর করিয়া ধন্যবাদ বার থাকাৎ জানেয়ার।

The 30 days Design and Technology Development Workshop (DDW) on Tribal Artistic Textiles sponsored by Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) and being implemented by Socio Cultural Society of Bishnupriya Manipuri, in an endeavor to rejuvenate the dying rich traditional handloom and handicrafts of Bishnupriya Manipuri at Nidevi, Kumarghat, in Unakoti District of Tripura was visited by Mr Abhishek, the P O, O/o the Handicrafts Service Centre Agartala, today. Among others Smt Alaka Sinha, the President, Shri Nilkanta Sinha and Shri Animesh Sinha the Members of Advisory Committee of the organization were also present during the occassion among others. The Artisans exhibited their skills through their crafts & designs to the visiting officials with noticeable enthusiasm and interest.

On successful completion of 50 days (15 October 2025 to 12 Dec 2025) workshop on Artistic Textiles Crafts on traditional handloom of Bishnupriya Manipuri at Nidevi, Kumarghat of Unakoti district of Tripura, sponsored by D C (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, and implemented by Socio Cultural Society of Bishnupriya Manipuri, 30 Artisans were handed over the "Certificates of Appreciation" to the Artistes on 30 December 2025.

As a part of our endeavor to rejuvenate dying rich traditional handloom & handicrafts of Bishnupriya Manipuri, a 30 days "Design & Technology Development Workshop (DDW)" has commenced w.e.f. 30 Dec 2025, with 30 Artisans at Nidevi, Kumarghat, Unakoti, Tripura with the financial assistance of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), on Tribal Artistic Textiles craft under which the said traditional Handloom & Handicrafts are also covered. Shri Bimalendu Das, the Sobhadhipati of Unakoti District graced the Inaugural Function of the workshop as the Chief Guest, among other dignitaries.
