🚭 Building a To***co-Free Tripura Through Collective Action

A significant step towards a healthier Tripura was taken through the successful organization of the State-Level Workshop on To***co-Free Initiatives , bringing together key stakeholders from government departments, health institutions, educational institutions, law enforcement agencies, urban local bodies, civil society organizations, and development partners.

The workshop emphasized that to***co control is a shared responsibility requiring strong interdepartmental coordination, effective enforcement, and active community participation. Discussions focused on strengthening the implementation of the National To***co Control Programme (NTCP), WHO FCTC Article 5.3, COTPA, 2003, To***co-Free Educational Institutions (ToFEI), To***co Vendor Licensing, and the promotion of To***co-Free Villages across the state.

The Hon'ble Minister highlighted the importance of protecting children and youth from to***co use and called upon all stakeholders to work together in creating a healthier and safer future for Tripura.

🤝 North East NGO Meet on Social Inclusion | 29 June 2026

The Centre for Social Inclusion, Tripura University, in collaboration with the Voluntary Health Association of Tripura (VHAT), successfully organized the North East NGO Meet on Social Inclusion at Tripura University, Agartala.

The programme was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Badal Datta, Vice-Chancellor (In-charge), Tripura University, along with distinguished academicians, development experts, and CSR professionals. Thirty-one Civil Society Organizations from across the North Eastern States participated in this unique platform for dialogue, learning, and collaboration.

The day featured enriching technical sessions on CSR and donor partnerships, project formulation, capacity building, networking, and preparing the next generation of development professionals. The meet reinforced the importance of partnerships among academia, civil society, government, and the corporate sector in advancing social inclusion and sustainable development in the North East.

Together, we continue to build a stronger, more inclusive, and resilient civil society.

🚑 Healthcare on Wheels: Reaching Every Doorstep

The Voluntary Health Association of Tripura (VHAT) proudly inaugurated its Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) at Khowai District on 25th June 2026, a significant initiative aimed at delivering quality healthcare services to remote and underserved communities.

This initiative has been made possible through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) support of TATA AIG General Insurance Company Ltd. We were honoured by the presence of officials from TATA AIG General Insurance Company Ltd., whose participation reflected their strong commitment to improving community health through meaningful partnerships.

The inaugural programme was graced by the District Magistrate & Collector, Khowai, who also ceremonially flagged off the Mobile Medical Unit, marking the beginning of its journey to serve communities with essential healthcare services at their doorstep. The programme was attended by senior officials from the Health Department, representatives of SWASTI, TATA AIG General Insurance Company Ltd., and the Voluntary Health Association of Tripura.
