With great sorrow, the Tikkun Olam family mourns the passing of Gerard Daniel, a founder and builder of the Daniel Centers for Progressive Judaism in Tel Aviv. He was a leader and pioneer of Reform and Progressive Judaism in Israel, the USA and around the world - and an embodiment of the concept of tikkun olam, the Jewish drive to repair the world. May his memory be a blessing.

"According to the new policy, if [an asylum seeker] can prove that they are trying to process their *Refugee Status Determination (RSD) application they will not be affected by the new [deportation] policies... Roughly 13,000 people have yet to fill in this application form and with the deadline rapidly approaching the pressure is on to get through as many people as possible."
