From Ofakim to New York. 🌍✨

At Focal Point 2026, NATAN CEO Alice Miller shared a very special children's book with OLAM CEO Dyonna Ginsburg 📖❤️

This book was born out of our project in Ofakim, supporting the emotional healing and resilience of local children following October 7. Seeing this story travel all the way to New York is a beautiful reminder that local voices have no borders, and that the most meaningful connections between organizations always begin with the communities at the heart of the work.

Following October 7, NATAN partnered with “HaMakom”, an initiative operating emotional support centers across India for Israelis going through difficult periods.

The centers support released soldiers, reservists, Nova survivors, and travelers looking for a place to pause, process, and receive emotional support in Hebrew while far from home.

Sometimes meaningful support begins with conversation, familiarity, and community.

As Eid al Adha begins this week, we send warm wishes to everyone celebrating.

Across different communities, cultures, and faiths, holidays can be moments of connection, generosity, and care for one another — values that continue to guide humanitarian work everywhere.

A meaningful meeting recently took place between NATAN and leaders of the Druze community in Israel, focused on expanding access to rehabilitation care for Druze children with disabilities in Syria.

Through NATAN’s NIFLA program, developed in partnership with ALYN Hospital Pediatric & Adolescent Rehabilitation Center PELE Center, children living in war-affected Syrian communities are receiving personalized rehabilitation solution following remote assessments and guidance from professional teams.

Together with Druze religious and community leaders, efforts are now underway to reach additional children and strengthen this cross border humanitarian collaboration.

🌍 Africa Day — and a moment we'll never forget.

Under the shade of a tree in Mozambique, one of our NATAN doctors leaned in to check on a baby resting in his mother's arms. No clinic. No hospital. Just a turquoise plastic table, a pair of steady hands, and the quiet determination to show up for families who have nowhere else to turn.

Scenes like this one are why NATAN exists. When disaster strikes and local systems are overwhelmed, we deploy teams to bring care directly to the people who need it most — in their communities, on their terms.

This Africa Day, we're thinking of every family we've had the privilege of serving in Mozambique and across the continent. And we're deeply grateful for the volunteers, donors, and partners who make every mission possible.

NATAN’s dental clinic in Haifa has moved into a new space.

The clinic continues to provide accessible dental care through a dedicated team of volunteers, supporting people who often fall between the cracks of the healthcare system.

The new location creates better conditions for both patients and volunteers, and strengthens the clinic’s ability to continue this work consistently and with dignity. 🤍

Humanitarian work is often imagined through its most visible moments: emergency teams arriving after disaster, doctors treating patients, supplies reaching communities in crisis.

But much of the work happens behind the scenes.

Coordinating with local organizations.
Securing medical approvals.
Understanding existing needs on the ground.
Building partnerships that allow support to happen responsibly and effectively.

As one NATAN team member recently reflected:
“Sometimes, the most important principle in humanitarian response is also the simplest one: first, do no harm.”

That understanding continues to shape the way NATAN works across different missions and communities around the world.

In Q1 2026 alone, NATAN responded in Mozambique following floods and a cyclone, continued resilience work in Israel, supported children with disabilities in Syria and Ukraine through tailor made rehabilitation solutions, and operated free dental clinics for vulnerable communities.

This June, NATAN will participate in OLAM Focal Point in New York, joining organizations and professionals from across the humanitarian field for conversations about partnership, responsibility, and practical action in complex realities.

We look forward to the conversations ahead.

No humanitarian mission happens alone.

In every response, NATAN works closely with local partners, healthcare workers, and community organizations already operating on the ground. These partnerships help us better understand needs, reach affected communities, and provide support in ways that are practical, respectful, and sustainable.

Local knowledge and long term community presence are essential in crisis settings. Working together helps ensure that humanitarian action strengthens existing efforts and creates continuity beyond the immediate response.

Partnerships are not a side element of humanitarian work. They are part of what makes effective response possible.

For many NATAN volunteers, humanitarian work becomes more than a mission.
It becomes a family.

Over years of responding to disasters and crises around the world, volunteers build relationships through shared experiences: supporting communities after earthquakes, working in medical clinics, navigating uncertainty together, and showing up again and again wherever help is needed.

This International Day of Families, we want to recognise the unique sense of family that grows inside humanitarian work and the people who continue choosing to stand beside one another, in Israel and around the world.

Psychosocial support is a critical part of humanitarian response.

NATAN’s psychosocial teams work with evidence based early trauma response models including the 6C’s and the BASIC PH resilience model. These approaches were developed specifically for crisis settings and focus on providing structured support during the initial phases of trauma, when timely intervention can significantly influence long term recovery.

This work often happens through conversations, group support, restoring routine, and strengthening community resilience in environments affected by uncertainty, displacement, or ongoing crisis.

Because recovery is not only physical.
