Today is three years since October 7th. Our thoughts are with everyone affected on that dark day and everyone still affected three years on.

At IsraAID, we show up for communities in crisis, wherever we are needed. For the first time, this meant in Israel, too. As Israel’s leading non-governmental aid agency, we brought our global experience home during the country’s gravest humanitarian emergency, working hand-in-hand with affected communities. We could only do this thanks to the unshakeable commitment of our supporters around the world.

Now, three years later, we are continuing with these communities on the long, difficult road towards hope, healing, and recovery in Israel and throughout the region.

In South Sudan, ongoing conflict and displacement have left communities facing shortages of food, safe drinking water, and access to healthcare — contributing to high levels of acute malnutrition among children and lactating mothers.

In her community, Nyegoa volunteers as a Mother-to-Mother Group leader, supporting children and mothers affected by malnutrition. She conducts malnutrition screenings for children, supports lactating mothers, raises awareness about breastfeeding, and refers families to better healthcare.

Through her work, Nyegoa is helping identify children at risk of malnutrition and ensuring mothers have access to information, support, and essential health services.

In Kamajonkol, finding water is part of everyday life. Children dig into the dry riverbed, searching beneath the sand for whatever water they can find. The only alternative: walking 7km to an overcrowded borehole.

Bawaka is a remote Indigenous community in Northeast Arnhem Land, Australia, home to Yolŋu Traditional Owners who have lived there for generations.

For over 40 years, the community has relied on a single, aging borehole for its water. Now, together with the Nova Peris Foundation, IsraAID is partnering with Bawaka's Traditional Owners on the Water Resilience Project — rehabilitating the community's water system and building long-term, community-owned water management. In July, former Prime Minister Tony Abbot joined us in Bawaka to start work on the new system, together with Nova Peris and the Bawaka community.

This project does more than fix a water system — it gives Bawaka the tools to manage its own water for the long term, supporting the ability of this community to live safely on Country for generations to come.

Last week, we were honored to host TaiwanICDF財團法人國際合作發展基金會 at IsraAID HQ for two special days — culminating in the official signing of our MOU, formalizing an exciting partnership between our two organizations.

At a time when crises around the world are compounding — from natural disasters to displacement to safe water access and public health emergencies — the need for coordinated, effective humanitarian response has never been more urgent. No single organization can meet this moment alone. Partnerships like this one allow us to combine expertise, extend our reach, and respond faster and smarter to communities in need.

Following the formalization of this very special relationship, we are excited for everything TaiwanICDF and IsraAID will accomplish together, and we are sure it will mark the beginning of many more collaborations to come.
