סיד ישראל הינו ארגון ללא מטרות רווח אשר שם לו למטרה להניע את החברה בישראל למעורבות נרחבת בתחום הסיוע והפיתוח הבינלאומי, זאת באמצעות
יצירת פלטפורמה לעשייה ושיח משותפים ומקצועיים. סיד ישראל מקדם ומוביל לימוד, הכשרה, בניית יכולות ורישות מקומי ובינלאומי, ופועל ליצירת סביבה תומכת לפעילותם של יחידים, ארגונים ומוסדות ממלכתיים מישראל בתחום הסיוע והפיתוח הבינלאומי.
סיד ישראל הינו סניף של הארגון הבינלאומי הוותיק: SID – Society for International Development. SID מהווה פורום עולמי של אנשים ומוסדות העוסקים בפיתוח כלכלי וחברתי בר-קיימא מאז שנת 1957. במהלך השנים הייתה SID בחזית הפיתוח של התיאוריה והפרקטיקה בתחום הפיתוח הבינלאומי. כיום מונה הארגון למעלה משלושת אלפים חברים ב-80 מדינות וכ-45 שלוחות ברחבי העולם. מעבר להשפעת הארגון מכוח רשת בינלאומית ענפה זו, ארגון SID זוכה למעמד מייעץ מיוחד בארגונים בינלאומיים כגון UNFPA, UNICEF, ILO, FAO,ECOSOC , UNEP ועוד. SID-Israel is a non-profit organization who aims to galvanize Israeli society to broad involvement in the field of international development and foreign aid through the creation of a platform for professional joint action and dialogue. SID promotes and advances study, professional trainings, capacity building and local and international networking and acts to create an enabling environment for individuals, organizations, and government agencies in Israel in the field of international development and aid work. SID-Israel is the Israeli branch of the Society for International Development (SID), an international organization recognized the world over as a leader in the field of international development. Since its founding in 1957, SID has been at the forefront of both theoretical and practical issues relating to international development. Today, SID boasts over 3000 members in 80 countries and 45 branches across the globe. In addition to the influence that this wide network lends, SID also influences development-related policy by virtue of its special consultative status in various international organizations including: UNFPA, UNICEF, ILO, FAO, ECOSOC, UNEP and others.
