English below:

There's a reason we call it the TKUMA Journey. 🇮🇱
In Hebrew, "Tkuma" means resilience and renewal. It doesn't mean forgetting what happened or leaving the pain behind. It means choosing to move forward, even when our hearts are still aching, and drawing strength from remembrance, from the people, and from our connection to the land.
Yesterday, 300 participants from Garin Tzabar, currently in the absorption phase of the program, set out on a meaningful journey through southern Israel. Each group followed its own route in the footsteps of the events of October 7, visiting places that carry the stories of that day and learning firsthand about the courage, loss, and struggles of the communities in the south.
For these young men and women, who chose to leave their homes and make Aliyah to Israel in order to serve in the IDF, this was an important opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the story of the country they chose to become part of, to reflect on the meaning of their decision, and to recognize our shared responsibility for its future.
They all concluded the journey with a challenging stretcher-carrying hike up Masada, which required physical effort and teamwork.
The TKUMA Journey is not an easy one, but it is incredibly important. It reminds us that we can carry the memory and the pain while continuing to move forward together, grow stronger, and build our future here.
