Beres voices the interests of the international couples community and promote positive policy change. My name is Lior Beres and I'm a licensed advocate in Israel. I've been a part of the international couples community in Israel since 2013, actively participating in the group "Mixed Couples in Israel" since then, and moderating it since mid 2021. Being in a mixed relationship myself, I've been thr
ough all the stages of the gradual process with my foreign partner, and got to know many people, stories and experiences of other couples along the way. I've been trying to help other couples with advice and share my knowledge of the process through my online activity, mainly on our Facebook group. Starting on April 2021, in the shadow of the Covid-19 pandemic that affected the international couples community severely, I took a step forward with the aim of voicing the interests of our community and fight for change. Since then, i've been advocating for the community in front of various Knesset Committees on a variety of subjects, working with Knesset members and spreading the story of our community in order to promote policy changes. Following the incredible demand for general information and advocacy for international couples, I've decided to extend the scope of my volunteer work and help mixed couples by sharing information. I've been doing all the work as a volunteer and I hope I can keep helping other international couples and others that are facing bureaucratic difficulties.
