We will rebuild. We will live. We will keep moving forward.

A co-pilot on a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv attacked the captain and tried to take control of the plane, before Israeli passengers helped overpower him. The flight eventually landed safely in Saudi Arabia.

But think about that for a second. Passengers boarded a commercial flight home and ended up having to help stop their own plane from being hijacked.

Under a new law prohibiting goods from Israeli settlements in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights, travelers from Israel have reported having their personal belongings inspected upon arrival in Amsterdam, including souvenirs and gifts. The rules allow travelers to be asked to prove where an item came from, with violations potentially leading to confiscation and prosecution.

Meanwhile, outside the D66 party congress in Amsterdam, masked protesters openly displayed support for Hamas and the PFLP, both designated terrorist organizations in the Netherlands.

Apparently, some things raise more alarms than others.

There are 364 other days to protest, criticize Israel or make whatever political argument you want. Turning the holiest day of the Jewish year into a political stage, appropriating the language of Jewish repentance and remembrance, and weaponizing the charge of “genocide” against Jews is something else entirely.

Whatever point you’re trying to make, some places should simply be off limits. Concentration camps, 9/11 memorials or Mass, for example.

But for the “Free Palestine” movement, apparently no event is too sacred, too sensitive or simply too inappropriate to crash.

Did we miss any? Unfortunately, there are too many to count.
