Despite the storm outside, the room was packed. The Amal-Tikva ecosystem, full of local leaders, activists, donors and diplomats came together yesterday to practice being the field we are working to become.

At our Annual Summit we shared challenges and honest lessons while pushing each other to ask deeper, tougher questions. We explored partnership models that carry the field and proposed new ones. We focused on what helps organizations work better. We also ate good food and breathed Jerusalem mountain air, to give ourselves a minute to reset.

Why? Because we are needed. Because we are the ones doing this work. Because we need a moment to celebrate our growth and success. And a moment to troubleshoot challenges while pushing each other to keep reaching deeper into our societies and higher up to those in positions of power.

Thank you to our many speakers for your honesty and openness. Thank you to everyone who took the time to come, on a rainy day, to inspire one another. And of course, thank you to our supporters for enabling us to hold this space for the field.

• Empowering civil society leaders through a redesigned Executive Leadership Program
• Innovating through long-term partnerships by combining our strategic consulting offering with ongoing support for our 50+ Fieldbuilding360 alumni organizations
• Investing in tomorrow’s leaders - a record number of highly qualified peacebuilders applied so we doubled the size of our 2026 Emerging Leaders cohort
• Expanding what’s possible through a new Research Lab to test evidence-based peacebuilding approaches that haven’t yet been tried here

Last week to apply! Peacebuilding leaders - apply through Nov 30th.

Ready to invest in your professional development while connecting with other Israeli and Palestinian peacebuilders and social change activists? Sign up until the end of this week for our ATLI Emerging Leaders program 2026 cohort.

This six-month intensive program (January-July 2026) will help you strengthen your professional skills, explore innovative approaches to peacebuilding and social change, and join a regional community of peacebuilders committed to lasting impact.

The program includes twice-monthly interactive workshops and seminars, and an international study tour to Belfast.

👥 Who should apply? Israeli and Palestinian professionals with at least three years of experience in the fields of peacebuilding or social change.

“I never imagined that we could stop the violence”

Last week, we heard from families that lost loved ones to the conflict who chose dialogue over revenge. We met civil society leaders and former fighters turned peacebuilders. We engaged politicians intimately involved in the ceasefire talks and with the mayor.

Over five days we witnessed division up close: peacewalls cutting through neighborhoods, murals of advocacy and identity, and stories of loss woven into daily life. We felt how even 27 years after the ceasefire, peacebuilding is a complicated and heavy ongoing process.

While our trip to Belfast was inspiring, it also reminded us that carrying the conflict nonviolently takes civil society infrastructure that we have yet to build here in our context.

Our latest ATLI Emerging Leaders cohorts - 26 Palestinian and Israeli peacebuilders traveled to learn from Northern Irish civil society leaders. Not because our conflicts are the same, but because civil society is critical and they are a living example.

As we return to our own divided home, we carry Belfast’s lessons: that a sustainable nonviolent reality depends on strong civil society infrastructure and courageous leadership from within each side. As one speaker told us, “When I went to fight, my community backed me. And when I went to make peace — my community stood strongly by my side.”

Of course, this means that we as an organisation need to grow too.
