A Spoonful of Hope כף של תקווה An inspiring community initiative that distributes Food Packages and Gift Boxes for Chagim. that donated food to us instead of discarding it.

The food project was started 12 years ago when it came to my attention that people had hit financial difficulties and could not feed themselves or their families. We started off collecting from restaurants, bakeries, office canteens, greengrocers, schools, coffee shops etc.. This food is collected, repackaged and distributed by our volunteers on a bi-weekly basis. The families are referred to us b

y the social welfare department of the local municipality as well as various socials workers of other NGO's and schools. We maintain very close contact with all these organisations in order to ensure that there is no duplication of assistance and to maximize the number of families or individuals receiving assistance. We have an incredible dedicated volunteer base, many of whom have been with us for the past 12 years. Even though we realise that food packages are a necessity, in our experience we know that it is wonderful for a family or individual to receive a personalised gift box. This would include gift boxes for the elderly, kids at risk, birthday or upcoming festival. Your donation is sure to put a smile on someone's face and make sure their day is a special one.

Hi Everyone!
This is our last big Chesed opportunity before the summer holidays, and I ask you to please help in any way if possible.
Next week Noam who will be celebrating his Barmitzvah at the Kotel.
Recently his family have been through very hard times as his Dad is suffering from severe PTSD from the war, and they are under terrible stress to pay for the necessary items for Noam's Barmitzvah.
They reached out to me for assistance to try and ease the financial burden.
We are excited to be a part of this milestone in his life, and would love for him to have a day that he and his family will remember with joy and happiness.
Please open your hearts to this special young man, and lets give him a day he will always remember with a smile!
There will be a small celebration for his immediate family and friends at the Kotel, and we are hoping to be able to sponsor that.

Hi Everyone!
I hope you enjoyed Shavuot with your loved ones.
The day before Shavuot we were the lucky recipients of a 3 big containers of fruit and vegetables, dried fruit and biscuits to add to the Shavuot packages for our families.
I would like to say a huge thank you to the Tali School in Raanana for once again thinking of our families, and enabling them to enjoy a Chag Sameach!

Shavuot Sameach Everyone!
Thank you so much to all you amazing people who opened your hearts to our appeal for food for Shavuot for our families who have fallen on hard times.
We received money donations....dairy meals....cakes...dairy products...groceries and fruit and vegetables and from being afraid that they couldnt provide food for their families, they now have a feast.
Their excitement and relief was very humbling and rewarding and I cant thank you all enough for making such a difference to their Chag and their morale.
Thank you so much to a wonderful sponsor who treated all our families to a delivery of pizza and pasta. It was such a treat for them!
We were also able to make up packages for 11 Holocaust Survivors in Rishon.
You gave them hope for tomorrow because they know that someone cares and they are not alone!
Please watch over our hero soldiers and pilots, and protect them, and bring them home safely!

Chag Sameach Everyone!
I would like to say a huge thank you to all the amazing residents of "Leshem" for collecting 6 trolleys of groceries for us!
We were able to make up 48 packages for our families, as well as 11 packages for Holocaust Survivors in Rishon LeZion.
A special word of thanks to Ilanit Gottlieb for collecting and organizing this amazing project, and Jack and Vivienne Hotz for bringing the groceries through and delivering them to my door.
You have provided a feast for our families for Shavuot, and I thank you for caring about them, and enabling them to sit proudly at their Chag table with their families.

Hi Everyone
We are busy making up packages for Shavuot for families in our community who have fallen on hard times.
We were very fortunate to have received a large donation of non perishable groceries so that will be a huge help!
If anyone would like to make a dairy meal or cake for one of our families, especially the elderly, sick or disabled we would be so grateful.
We would also be happy to receive any donation of dairy products and fruit and vegetables to add to our packages.
Gift cards for the supermarket would also be most appreciated.
With your help we can ensure that all these families will enjoy a Shavuot Sameach!

Happy 78th Birthday Israel!
Chag Sameach Everyone!
The past 2.5 years have been a roller coaster of emotions.....from sadness to joy....from heartbreak to hope, and so many emotions in between.
We salute our hero soldiers and pilots who fight for us every day, so that we and our loved ones can live safely!
This year we managed to celebrate, with a very fragile cease fire hanging over our heads!
May the future hold less sadness and anti- semitism for Jews all over the world, and far more joy, happiness, good health, safety and celebrations, and may we have peace thoughout the world!

Pesach Sameach Everyone!
Thank you so much to all you amazing people who opened your hearts to the families going through hard times.
This year there were so many new families seeking assistance but with your support and generosity we were able to assist every request!
We received groceries, dairy products, fruit and vegetables cards for the supermarket, and 30 cakes from Roladin.
We were also able to deliver 155 four course meals to the Holocaust Survovors and families that we assist.
From being afraid that they couldnt provide food for their families they now have a feast.
Their excitement and relief was very humbling and rewarding and I cant thank you all enough for making such a difference to their Chag, and their morale and dignity.
You gave them hope for tomorrow because they know that someone cares and they are not alone!
Our thoughts are with the bereaved families who have lost loved ones, and the displaced families.
Please watch over our brave hero soldiers and airforce heroes and keep them safe.

Pesach Sameach Everyone!
I would like to thank all the very special people involved in this project.
To all the amazing people who opened their hearts and donated a meal/meals to our families in need, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for enabling them to enjoy their Chag Meal with dignity and happiness.
This year 155 meals were distributed to the Holocaust Survivors, as well as the elderly, sick and disabled in our Food Project who are unable to cook for themselves.
We were also able to distribute meals to some of the our single moms and families of soldiers who are in Miluim.
Of course this project would not not have come to fruition without the kindness and generosity of Denis Phillips from Dennys Foods, who ensured that their Seder meal was delicious and beautifully presented.
On behalf of all the recipients, we thank you for enabling them to enjoy a Chag Sameach!
A special thank you to Steven Heilbronn for co-ordinating the project.
Thank you to Beryl Schmidt for ensuring that the food was delivered to the Holocaust Survivors.
You have both have hearts of gold, and have made sure that they too will enjoy a special Seder Meal.
May we continue to assist those in our community who need us.
