How can Israeli nonprofits use their voice on the global stage to create real change? 🇮🇱

That question was at the heart of a recent gathering of dozens of Israeli organizations with consultative status to the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), initiated by the International Organizations Division of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

We were proud to take part in the conversation and share from our experience in the UN arena.

Ahmir Lerner, CEO of Beit Issie Shapiro, spoke about Beit Issie’s ongoing work to bring Israeli-developed models, knowledge, and professional experience to international platforms, while advancing the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities.

Shavuot is in the air at Beit Issie! Cheesecake, flower crowns, singing, and lots of smiles 🌾

At our Beit Raz Inclusive Early Childhood Campus, toddlers celebrated with a joyful inclusive Shavuot party, singing holiday songs together 🎶

And our Special Education School kids baked and enjoyed delicious cheesecakes and created their own beautiful flower crowns. 🌸🍰

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month this May, Beit Issie Shapiro was proud to host “Speaking from the Field” — a meaningful professional conference focused on the emotional and mental health needs of people with neurodevelopmental disabilities.

The day brought together professionals from the fields of psychiatry and emotional therapy for insightful lectures, clinical case presentations, and important conversations surrounding inclusive and compassionate mental health care for people with developmental disabilities.

Topics included dual diagnosis services, autism diagnosis among children with complex disabilities, sexuality and belonging, and practical tools for professionals working in the field.

The conference also included the presentation of the “Kol HaNefesh” Prize, established by the Mandelbaum family and awarded this year to Tsufan Agmon in recognition of her meaningful contribution to the field.

Thank you to all the speakers, participants, and professionals who helped make the day so meaningful and impactful.

An unforgettable night to benefit Beit Issie in Toronto 🍷✨

Our sold-out “Vintage Vibes” event last week brought together 130 guests for an evening of incredible Israeli wines, great food, music, and meaningful connection; all in support of Beit Issie.

Guided by Rabbi Yisroel Bernath, guests enjoyed a unique tasting journey through Israeli wines from across the country while learning the stories, regions, and people behind each bottle. It was a beautiful evening celebrating Israel, community, and resilience.

Guests also were inspired to learn about our innovative work in disability services, rehabilitation, mental health, assistive technology, and our TECH FOR HEROES initiative supporting wounded veterans and families after October 7.

Celebrating Jerusalem at Beit Issie ✨

Our Special Education School brought Jerusalem fun all the way to Ra’anana — without leaving the building.

The kids enjoyed Jerusalem-themed activities, including a virtual visit to the Kotel where they wrote wishes and tucked them into the cracks of their own mini-Kotel. Swipe ➡️ to join them in this memorable experience.

Our kids took center stage and totally lit it up! ⭐️
At the עיריית רעננה Dance Meet, students from Beit Issie’s Special Education School joined 11 other special ed classes from across Ra'anana and gave an amazing performance.

You could see all the hard work they put into this moment, and how excited they were to be up on stage together.

We’re thrilled to share the launch of the next big thing in accessible medical care.
Last week, we opened the first-of-its-kind course in Israel for sixth-year dental students at Tel Aviv University, focused on providing dental care for people with disabilities.

The program combines classroom learning with hands-on experience in our dental clinic, helping future dentists build the skills, confidence, and empathy needed to provide accessible and compassionate care for every patient.

This exciting initiative is helping shape a new generation of dental professionals who are more inclusive, patient-centered, and prepared to care for people with diverse needs.
