ALMA is an apolitical non-profit association established in March 2010 with the prime objective of promoting knowledge of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) in Israeli society. We believe that knowledge of IHL should be accessible to the general public, and the promotion of IHL will encourage fruitful discussions on its impact and application within the Israeli society

פוליטית ללא כוונת רווח, השמה לה למטרה את קידום השיח, הידע והחשיפה למשפט הומניטרי בחברה הישראלית תוך רצון להפוך לחלק אינטגראלי מעולם האקדמיה הישראלי והבין-לאומי בתחום המשפט ההומניטרי הבין-לאומי (IHL) וממערכת החינוך הישראלית בתחום זה.

יעדי העמותה מבוססים על ניצול היכולות והידע של חבריה להגשמת מטרות העמותה, תוך שמירה על אופי א-פוליטי ופניה לכל פלחי האוכלוסייה המעוניינים ללמוד ולהבין את תחום המשפט ההומניטרי הבין-לאומי. יעדי העמותה המבוססים על הרצון לקדם ולהטמיע את המשפט הבין-לאומי ההומניטרי בישראל כוללים מטרות של קידום סדנאות, כנסים ותחרויות בין-לאומיות ומקומיות להטמעת המשפט הבין-לאומי ההומניטרי, שיתוף פעולה עם גורמים רלוונטיים (לרבות: מוסדות אקדמיים בארץ ובחו"ל, ארגונים בין-לאומיים, משרדי ממשלה, תאגידים ואנשים פרטיים) וכן הענקת מלגות לסטודנטים, חוקרים ופעילים בתחום המשפט הבין-לאומי.

Join us for the Open Day of the 2025 National International Humanitarian Law Competition, which will take place online on Thursday, June 12, 2025.

During the session, you’ll be able to:
✨Learn about the structure and content of the competition
✨Ask questions and meet the organizing team
✨Hear from past participants and professionals in the field
✨Ask anything you’ve ever wondered about IHL

✨The competition is individual — not team-based
✨No institutional support is required to register — participation is open to all!

This year, due to unavoidable circumstances, we made a significant change to our national IHL competition. Instead of the traditional three-day team-based event, we held a one-day individual competition.

We weren’t sure how well this format would work or if the students would enjoy the experience as much as the previous structure. After a very intense day, we’re thrilled to report that the competition was a success. The students were highly committed, demonstrated strong legal knowledge, and showed an incredible spirit throughout the competition.

We are deeply grateful to the students for their dedication and enthusiasm. Our sincere thanks go to נבו-המתמחה for their continued support of the competition for the second year, and to הוועד הבינלאומי של הצלב האדום ישראל for their ongoing collaboration with Alma עלמ"ה which helps make this event possible.
