๐ฉฐ From ballet training to long-term foot health awareness
From a young age, I trained as a ballerina.
That training developed discipline, physical endurance, strength, and body awareness that I appreciate.
However, years of intensive use of ballet shoes and high heels also led to chronic issues with my toenailsโspecifically ingrown nails on both sides of my toes. This was a condition I managed for many years through regular cosmetic pedicures, without addressing the underlying problem.
Over time, I realized that ongoing discomfort and inflammation are not conditions that need to be accepted or normalized.
This past summer, I underwent a professional corrective nail treatment with a specialist. The treatment addressed the structural cause of the ingrown nails rather than digging and masking symptoms. The result is nails that, while still showing signs of past mechanical stress from ballet, are now healthy and pain-free.
Seeing this improvement reinforced an important lesson:
effective treatment exists, and unnecessary suffering can be avoided.
For anyone experiencing chronic nail discomfort, I recommend seeking a qualified specialist rather than relying solely on cosmetic care.
With appreciation, I recommend:
