The Philadelphia Federation recently published a special feature article and newsletter highlighting headspace Netivot and the partnership established to strengthen the mental health and wellbeing of young people, adolescents, and families across southern Israel.

The article sheds light on the complex reality faced by young people in the region, the critical importance of accessible, community-based support services, and the power of partnerships that turn vision into action.

headspace Netivot was founded on the understanding that young people and adolescents need a safe, accessible space where they can pause, talk, and receive support before challenges escalate into crises. The center provides emotional and mental health support for young people and their families, promotes early identification of distress, and ensures that professional support is available close to home - especially in a region where the need is so significant.

We are grateful to the Philadelphia Federation for its partnership, trust, and ongoing commitment to advancing mental health and community resilience. Their decision to spotlight this work helps raise awareness of the importance of early support and accessible care for young people and families. When partners choose not only to support our mission, but also to share our story, it is especially meaningful.

Imagine a young man named David standing in line at Auschwitz, waiting to be sent to his death in the gas chambers, estimating he has all but an hour to live. Then, in those final harrowing moments, American troops arrive to liberate the camp, and that young man survives.

We celebrated a significant moment - the opening of headspace Be’er Sheva. A new center offering professional emotional care for youth and young adults at ages 10-25.

The event was honored by the presence of Oshri Avikhzer, Deputy Mayor, Tehila Rubins, Director of the Welfare and Social Services Department, Gal Eivey, Director of the Community Safety Authority, and Shani Ora Dotan, Director of Foreign Relations, alongside representatives of the Jewish Community Foundation Montreal, led by Dr. Arie Levy, Director General of the Israeli Office of Federation CJA. From Enosh, participants included the organization's CEO, Dr. Hilla Hadas, Arik Cohen, VP of Rehabilitation and Treatment Services at Enosh, Noa Kahana Buskila, Director of Youth and Young Adults at Enosh, alongside many significant other partners.

headspace Be'er Sheva is one of six headspace centers that Enosh is opening during this period across the country. The decision to open the center in Be'er Sheva is significant: since the start of the war, more and more young people in the south are seeking mental health support. They are coping with ongoing exposure to security threats, loss of routine, and severe emotional impacts. The new center provides them with professional and accessible care - not as a temporary solution, but as a permanent place that will be here for them long-term. The center integrates into the fabric of life in Be'er Sheva, in collaboration with the municipality, as part of a shared vision to promote community mental health and build a network of partners and change agents.

Access to the center requires no referral or prior diagnosis, and services include individual and group therapy, psychiatric support, mentoring, resilience-building workshops, creative therapies, and innovative technology-based interventions. Alongside services for young people, the center also offers counseling and support for parents, as well as training for formal and informal education and community staff.

Dr. Hilla Hadas, CEO of Enosh, said at the event: "The opening of headspace Be'er Sheva is a clear statement of commitment to the youth and young adults in the south, and to their right to receive professional, accessible emotional care without barriers. In recent years, and especially since the outbreak of the war, we are seeing a sharp increase in mental distress among children, youth, and young adults, alongside a significant shortage of available services. headspace Be'er Sheva was opened to be a stable and safe address - A place to receive timely, tailored support right when it’s needed.

What a year it has been!

The year 2025 was shaped by the continued impact of October 7th. More than anything, it was a year of resilience, shared action, and a significant shift: mental health has become more present and legitimate than ever in the public discourse. More people are speaking openly about emotional distress, recognizing it as an essential need, and seeking support.

Throughout 2025, we continued to expand, refine, and deepen our services in response to growing mental health needs:
❤️ We expanded support for youth and young adults, opening additional headspace centers and launching a supportive community for young adults in Rehovot

❤️ We increased the activity of the Balancing Houses and broadened housing, employment, and social services

❤️ We adapted counseling services for families and developed dedicated responses for populations directly affected by the war

❤️ We continued to deepen our expertise in the field of trauma and integrated advanced technologies into our work

❤️ We expanded training programs for organizations and educational teams

❤️ We promoted public awareness and held our annual Mental Health Conference, alongside Israel’s fourth annual R U OK? Day.

Alongside all this activity, it is important to state: the demand for mental health services has reached unprecedented levels, and the system is operating under heavy and continuous strain. The gap between rapidly growing needs and the pace at which the infrastructure, workforce capacity, and resources are being strengthened continues to widen. This reality demands a broad national vision, sustained investment, and in-depth solutions, to ensure that the thousands currently waiting for assistance - and the many more who will seek it - can receive timely, high-quality care, without delays that may exacerbate their condition.
To you - our partners in this journey: employees, volunteers, supporters, and donors - we express our deepest gratitude. Your trust, support, and partnership are what enable us to act with high intensity, to expand, to innovate, to hold onto hope and to reach more and more people.

We won an award!
We're happy to share that our R U OK? campaign won a Bronze Award in the Public Relations category at the 2025 Granot Awards - Israel's leading creative competition.

The campaign, led by Omer Wenkert , a released hostage, delivered a significant and powerful message: 'Take the first step and show genuine interest,' and succeeded in making an impact and touching hearts.

In our complex reality, this campaign reminded us all that every feeling is valid, and that genuine care can be meaningful and even life-saving.

Thank you Omer for your courage and authenticity. Our deepest gratitude to Ben Horin & Alexandrovitz PR agency for leading a smart and precise communications initiative with professionalism, determination, and sensitivity. Thank you Eyal Guy for the wonderful creative work and to everyone who partnered with us on this important journey.
