לקהילה היהודית בסידני,
קהילות כרמיאל ומשגב, יחד עם שותפינו בקהילות ורשה ופיטסבורג, ניצבות המומות וכואבות נוכח אירוע הטרור הזוועתי נגד הקהילה היהודית בסידני, בעיצומה של חגיגת חנוכה. יחד, שלוש הקהילות, אנחנו מחזקים את אחינו באוסטרליה, וניצבים יחד איתם אל מול פני הרוע. לא ניתן לחושך לגבור – האור ינצח!

To our brothers and sisters in Sydney,
Our hearts are heavy following the horrific terror attack you have experienced. It is heartbreaking to think that innocent Jews, gathering to light the first candle of Hanukkah in one of the most magnificent communities in the world, were targeted by vile terrorists.
The communities of Karmiel and Misgav, together with our partner communities in Warsaw and Pittsburgh, stand united in sharing the deep grief of the Jewish community in Australia. We are pained by this tragedy and send our unwavering strength and support from across the globe.
Darkness will not prevail – the light will shine on!

Omri, from Misgav — not far from where Alon Ohel lives — joined Pittsburgh’s U15 basketball team for the JCC Maccabi Games and took a moment to play on the yellow piano at the JCC Pittsburgh, dedicated in Alon’s honor as he remains held hostage in Gaza.

✨ The world came to Pittsburgh for the JCC Maccabi Games — and our Partnership was right at the heart of it! ✨

This summer’s delegation brought together 14 teens from Karmiel–Misgav and 2 teens from Warsaw, joining forces with the incredible Pittsburgh delegation for the 2025 JCC Maccabi Games 🏆 — hosted right in Pittsburgh!

🇮🇱🇵🇱🇺🇸 We kicked things off with a week in the homes of amazing Pittsburgh families, exploring the community — from the breathtaking views at Mt. Washington to the thrills of Kennywood… and of course, a powerful and moving visit to Tree of Life.

The following week was all about the Games — competing, cheering, and connecting with Jewish teens from Pittsburgh and around the world. In a year when it’s more important than ever to give our teens a space to celebrate being proud Jews, they stood tall — and they sure brought us a lot of pride in return. ❤️

We wrapped it all up with a joyful Shabbat weekend at EKC Camp before heading home, our hearts (and suitcases) full of memories.
