تهدف جمعية اللقاء بين الديانات الى ترسيخ السلام في الشرق الاوسط من خلال الحوار بين الديانات واللقاء على المستوى الشخصي وعبر البحث والدراسة للحضارات الاخرى. نحن,

في جمعية اللقاء بين الديانات, نؤمن ان الدين والمعتقد لا يشكل عامل مفرق ولا يشكل مصدر صراع, بل بإمكان الدين والمعتقد ان يشكلوا مصدر الهام وجزء من الحل.

Dr. Yehuda Stolov, Executive Director of the Interfaith Encounter Association, participated in a delegation of Israeli organizations engaged in interfaith and intercultural dialogue to the United Arab Emirates.

At the end of the conference, the group met with its organizer, Dr. Firas Habal, President of the Emirates Scholar Center, who said:"We realize that the key to changing the Middle East is education, and this is why we have decided to concentrate on this field strategically and scientifically. We see this partnership as a significant bridge for reconciliation and for having a long-lasting impact on the region in the spirit of tolerance and mutual understanding."

Many speeches throughout the conference echoed the messages that the Interfaith Encounter Association is working to spread in the world: building intercommunal relationships as a foundation, combining the values of mutual respect with the spiritual worlds, openness and inclusion of those with all worldviews. The Hijri year is the Islamic calendar, which begins with the migration (Hijra) of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ from Mecca to Medina in 622 CE. This is why it is called the Hijri calendar.

The Hijri year consists of 12 lunar months, beginning with the month of Muharram, followed by Safar, Rabi' al-Awwal, Rabi' al-Thani, and so on.

The current occasion marks the beginning of the new Hijri year, 1448 AH, with the arrival of the month of Muharram. It is a time when Muslims remember the Prophet’s migration and reflect on its values of patience, hope, renewal, and striving for a better future.

השנה ההיג'רית היא לוח השנה המוסלמי, המתחיל בהגירתו (היג'רה) של הנביא מוחמד ﷺ ממכה למדינה בשנת 622 לספירה. משום כך הוא נקרא הלוח ההיג'רי.

השנה ההיג'רית מורכבת מ־12 חודשים ירחיים, והראשון בהם הוא חודש מוחרם, ולאחריו צפַר, רביע אל־אוול, רביע א־ת'אני וכן הלאה.

האירוע הנוכחי מציין את תחילתה של השנה ההיג'רית החדשה, 1448 להג'רה, עם כניסתו של חודש מוחרם. זוהי הזדמנות עבור מוסלמים להיזכר באירוע ההגירה של הנביא ולהתבונן במשמעויות של ס

السنة الهجرية هي التقويم الإسلامي الذي يبدأ من هجرة النبي محمد ﷺ من مكة إلى المدينة المنورة عام 622م. ولهذا سُمّي بالتقويم الهجري.

يتكوّن العام الهجري من 12 شهرًا قمريًا، وأولها شهر محرم، ثم صفر، ربيع الأول، ربيع الآخر، وهكذا.

أما المناسبة الحالية فهي بداية السنة الهجرية الجديدة 1448 هـ، والتي تبدأ مع دخول شهر محرم. وهي مناسبة يتذكر فيها المسلمون حدث الهجرة النبوية وما يحمله من معاني الصبر والأمل والتجدد والسعي نحو مستقبل أفضل

Dr. Yehuda Stolov, Executive Director of the Interfaith Encounter Association, participated in a delegation of Israeli organizations engaged in interfaith and intercultural dialogue to the United Arab Emirates.

The most special highlight of the delegation was the meeting with Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defense Affairs, Interior & Foreign Affairs Committee of the UAE Federal National Council, and Chairman of Manara Center for Coexistence and Dialogue, who stated: "The Abraham Accords are not primarily a security or political agreement. They are meant to create connections among people, communities, and nations. Unfortunately, parts of our region have been hijacked by forces promoting narratives of division, hatred, and mistrust. That is why we need champions of peace to build bridges and speak publicly and clearly about the importance of these relationships."

Dr. Yehuda Stolov, Executive Director of the Interfaith Encounter Association, participated in a delegation of Israeli organizations engaged in interfaith and intercultural dialogue to the United Arab Emirates.

One of the impressive meetings the delegation held was with Mr. Ahmed Obaid Al Mansouri: former member of the National Council and founder of the "Museum of Civilizations". Al Mansouri presented Judaica items within the museum and also founded the first Holocaust museum in the Muslim world. Al Mansouri coined the term "Soul lag" - the gap where technology has raced ahead but values remain behind, and emphasized that a true connection between peoples is based on faith and values, not just business and interests.

Sheikh Ghaith Al Tamimi also joined the meeting: he grew up in Iraq, and served as a leader in an extremist militia. Through a deep reading of the Quran, he discovered that the book recognizes the "Children of Israel". After four assassination attempts by Iran, he fled to England and from there was invited to the Emirates to serve as the first Shiite lecturer at an Emirati university.

Throughout the meetings with educators, religious leaders, public figures, and civil society activists, one message was repeated over and over again: peace and coexistence do not begin with agreements, but with relationships between people and communities.

Last week, Dr. Yehuda Stolov, Executive Director of the Interfaith Encounter Association, participated in a delegation of Israeli organizations engaged in interfaith and intercultural dialogue to the United Arab Emirates

The delegation was organized by the Jerusalem Interfaith Center with the support of Israel’s Ministry for Regional Cooperation. It consisted of over 30 participants representing more than 20 organizations operating in the field of interfaith, intercultural and Mediterranean dialogue, who participated in a series of meetings at a senior level and the Third International Conference on Dialogue between Civilizations and Tolerance, held in Abu Dhabi by the Emirates Scholar Center.

It was inspiring to see how values of mutual respect, openness to others, and connection between different identities are promoted throughout the region, and how ideas that we have been working to promote for years at the IEA - encounter, listening, and building trust - are now seen as more relevant than ever to the future of the Middle East.

We just concluded another cycle of our Interfaith Encounter Facilitators Course, this time in Jerusalem. Together, participants explored what it means to create meaningful spaces for dialogue across religious, cultural, and social differences. We examined the principles of the IEA methodology, discussed real-life challenges from the field, and engaged in simulations that brought the complexity of interfaith encounters to life.
We are grateful for the commitment, curiosity, and thoughtful engagement that participants brought to this journey, and look forward to the next steps as the group now moves from the training phase into individual practical experience.

Arafah Day is the ninth day of Dhul Hijjah and is considered one of the most sacred days in Islam, taking place one day before Eid al-Adha. On this day, pilgrims gather at Mount Arafah as a central part of Hajj, while Muslims who are not on pilgrimage often fast. Fasting on this day is highly recommended and holds great spiritual value. Muslims also spend the day in prayer, repentance, remembrance of God, and seeking forgiveness, as it is known as a day of mercy and closeness to God.

יום עראפה הוא היום התשיעי בחודש ד'ו אל-חיג'ה, ונחשב לאחד הימים החשובים והקדושים ביותר באסלאם. הוא חל יום לפני חג הקורבן. ביום זה עולי הרגל עומדים בהר עראפה כחלק מרכזי מטקסי החג', בעוד שמוסלמים שאינם עולים לרגל נוהגים לצום. הצום נחשב למצווה רצויה ובעלת משמעות רוחנית גדולה. זהו יום של תפילה, בקשת סליחה, זיכרון האל, תשובה והתקרבות רוחנית.

وقفة عرفة هي اليوم التاسع من شهر ذي الحجة، وتُعد من أعظم الأيام في الإسلام، وتسبق عيد الأضحى بيوم واحد. في هذا اليوم يقف الحجاج في عرفة لأداء أهم مناسك الحج، بينما يصوم المسلمون غير الحجاج تقربًا إلى الله. ويُعتبر صيام يوم عرفة من السنن المستحبة، لما له من فضل كبير. كما يُكثر المسلمون فيه من الدعاء، الاستغفار، الذكر، والتوبة، لأنه يوم رحمة ومغفرة وقرب من الله.

Pentecost is one of the important Christian holidays, celebrated 50 days after Easter. It symbolizes the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples of Jesus Christ, according to Christian tradition, and is considered the beginning of the Church’s mission and its spread. Common symbols of this holiday include the dove, representing the Holy Spirit, and tongues of fire, symbolizing strength and inspiration. Pentecost carries meanings of faith, unity, peace, and spiritual renewal.

חג פנטקוסט הוא אחד החגים הנוצריים החשובים, והוא נחוג 50 ימים לאחר חג הפסחא. החג מסמל את ירידת רוח הקודש על תלמידיו של ישו, לפי המסורת הנוצרית, ונחשב לתחילת שליחותה של הכנסייה ולהתפשטותה. בין סמלי החג הנפוצים נמצאים היונה, המסמלת את רוח הקודש, ולשונות האש, המסמלות כוח והשראה. חג זה נושא עמו משמעויות של אמונה, אחדות, שלום והתחדשות רוחנית.

عيد العنصرة هو أحد الأعياد المسيحية المهمة، ويُحتفل به بعد 50 يومًا من عيد الفصح. يرمز هذا العيد إلى نزول الروح القدس على تلاميذ السيد المسيح، كما ورد في التقليد المسيحي، ويُعتبر بداية رسالة الكنيسة وانتشارها. من رموزه الشائعة الحمامة التي ترمز للروح القدس، وألسنة النار التي ترمز إلى القوة والإلهام. ويحمل هذا العيد معاني الإيمان، الوحدة، السلام، والتجدد الروحي.
