Shalva - The Israel Association for the Care and Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities

Shalva is dedicated to providing quality care for 'individuals with disabilities, empowering their families, and promoting social tolerance. Shalva gives equal access and opportunity to all participants regardless of religion, ethnic background, or financial capability. The organization’s advocacy initiatives, community events, and disability research continue to inspire a more inclusive Israeli society.

Meet Shalva! 🤍 Originally from Dallas, Texas, she made Aliyah and chose to do her National Service with us. She fell in love with the kids smiles from day one, and they’ve taught her the true meaning of resilience. We are so lucky to have you on our team! 🙌✨

October 7, 2023 changed Israel forever.

Three years later, we continue to carry with us the people we lost, the families whose lives were shattered, and the courage we witnessed.

Eli Sharabi survived 491 days in Hamas captivity. He returned home having lost his wife, Lianne, his daughters, Noiya and Yahel, and his brother Yossi.

In the aftermath of unimaginable loss, Eli made a powerful choice: to honor his family’s memory by creating something that would bring hope, strength, and support to others.

Together with Shalva, we are creating the Shalva Sharabi Family Center in Ashkelon, bringing Shalva’s model of care to Israel’s South and supporting individuals and families affected by PTSD, trauma and loss.

This Center will be more than a place of services. It will be a place of belonging, dignity, community, and hope.

We cannot undo what happened on October 7.
But we can decide what we build in its wake.

Through the Shalva Sharabi Family Center, the Sharabi family’s legacy will live on through the lives strengthened and futures made brighter in their name.

We remember. We build. We create hope.
