A fascinating diplomatic visit to Jerusalem: From City Hall to high-tech, through local w**e! 🇰🇷🤝🇮🇱

We were honored to host the South Korean Ambassador to Israel, Mr. In-ho Park (former Chief of Staff of the ROK Air Force), for an in-depth tour focused on governance, innovation, and diplomacy.

Here is a quick recap of a packed day:
🏛️ At Jerusalem City Hall: A meeting with Mayor Moshe Lion and Deputy Mayor Adir Schwartz to discuss the vision for Jerusalem as a thriving international capital and promote global collaborations.

🗺️ Connecting Diplomats to the Ground: The Jerusalem Center for Applied Policy (JCAP) presented the Ambassador with the "Diplomat’s Guide to Jerusalem" initiative.

🍷 Culture & W**e: A tour and tasting at the Jerusalem W**eries visitor center in Yemin Moshe, hosted by owners' representative Carmit Heinrich.

🚀 High-Tech & Innovation: A visit to the Har Hotzvim Technology Park, showcasing groundbreaking Israeli developments in healthcare and homeland security.

במשך שנים ישראל העלימה עין מהקונסוליה הטורקית בירושלים, שפועלת בפועל כ"שגרירות" עבור הרשות הפלסטינית ומערערת על הריבונות שלנו בבירה.
הגיע הזמן לעבור מהבלגה לאכיפה.

מרכז ירושלים למדיניות יישומית (JCAP) מפרסם מסמך מדיניות חדש, בהובלת השגריר בדימוס רן ישי, עם 10 צעדים מעשיים להצבת גבולות ברורים לאנקרה:

🔹 שלילת הטבות: ביטול אשרות עבודה, פטורי מס, חסינות רכבים ואפילו מקומות חניה שמורים.

Is Erdogan about to lose Jerusalem? 🇹🇷

For years, Israel has turned a blind eye to the Turkish Consulate in Jerusalem, which practically functions as a "diplomatic mission" for the Palestinian Authority while systematically undermining our sovereignty in the capital.
The time has come to shift from containment to enforcement.

Jerusalem Center for Applied Policy (JCAP) is releasing a new policy paper, led by Ambassador (Ret.) Ran Ishay, outlining 10 practical steps to set clear boundaries for Ankara:

🔹 Revoking Privileges: Canceling work visas, tax exemptions, vehicle immunity, and even reserved parking spots for diplomats who do not recognize Israel.
🔹 Ending Dual Roles: Banning Turkish diplomats registered at the Tel Aviv embassy from simultaneously operating out of the Jerusalem consulate.
🔹 Enforcement on the Ground: Investigating suspected illegal construction and strictly monitoring Turkish aid and cultural bodies in the city (such as TIKA).
🔹 A Clear Ultimatum: Want a diplomatic presence in Jerusalem? Recognize Israeli sovereignty, move your official embassy to the city, and close the Palestinian-facing consulate.

The message is simple: Anyone wishing to operate in Israel's capital must respect its sovereignty.

ביום ירושלים השנה השקנו יחד את המפה הפוזיטיבית של ירושלים ואיתה את "המדריך לדיפלומט בירושלים"

היום זכינו להעביר תדרוך ל-11 ראשי עיר מפנמה בהובלתו של עמיתנו בן אברהמי שכיהן גם כיועץ לראש העיר ירושלים.

כל ראש עיר קיבל לידיו חבילה שכללה סיכת האריה של העיר ירושלים, מפה לטובת מסגור במשרדו ובקבוק יין של יקב ירושלים האגדי בבעלותו של אוהב ירושלים מר עופר גואטה.

תודה מיוחדת לשגריר המוביל של פנמה בישראל מר עזרא כהן על עבודתו לחיזוק הקשרים בין המדינות ובמיוחד בין פנמה לירושלים בירת ישראל.

On Jerusalem Day this year, we proudly launched the Positive Map of Jerusalem together with the Diplomat's Guide to Jerusalem.

Today, we had the privilege of briefing 11 mayors from Panama, led by our colleague Ben Avrahami, who also served as an advisor to the Mayor of Jerusalem.

Each mayor received a special gift package that included the Lion of Jerusalem lapel pin, a framed copy of the map for display in their office, and a bottle of w**e from the legendary Jerusalem W**ery, owned by Mr. Ofer Guetta, a devoted friend of Jerusalem.

A special thank you to Panama's Ambassador to Israel, Mr. Ezra Cohen, for his outstanding work in strengthening the ties between our two countries, and especially between Panama and Jerusalem, the capital of Israel.

Our Jerusalem Day celebration brought together ambassadors and diplomats from a dozen countries at Jerusalem W**ery to mark 59 years of a united Jerusalem and to launch our new publication: Jerusalem: A Strategic Base for Diplomats.

The emotional peak of the evening came from Panama’s Ambassador Ezra Cohen, whose father fought to defend Jerusalem’s Jewish Quarter in 1948 and was taken prisoner by the Jordanian Legion. Standing in Jerusalem as a diplomat, he said:

“I feel privileged to continue my family’s legacy — not with weapons, but through diplomacy.”
