World Vision is about the well-being of vulnerable children regardless of their race, ethnicity, religion, or gender. For over 45 years, we have worked to improve the lives of children in this part of the world. The children in our current programmes in the West Bank are the most vulnerable in terms of poverty and fragility. Our goal is to nurture them, improve their resilience, and bring hope. We work through development, relief and advocacy so vulnerable children are protected in families and communities, and so they develop the skills they need for healthy lives. World Vision JWG has one of the largest community-based presence of any organisation operating in the West Bank. In FY20, we reached 138,213 individual children, of which 74% are categorically considered most vulnerable in the West Bank. We work through 12 locations or area programmes (AP), which directly support about 40,000 children participating in sponsorship programmes. The APs are located in Hebron, Bethlehem, Nablus, Salfit, Tubas, Ramallah and Jenin, and are served by over 80 dedicated female and male staff. The operation covers 149 communities and almost 400 schools with a total annual budget of around $9 million USD. Private funding gives us stability and enables us to build long-term relationships with families, communities, schools, municipalities, village councils, the Palestinian Authority, faith communities, and other civil society actors.

كل طفل يستحق مساحة آمنة للتعبير عن مشاعره وتعزيز صحته النفسية.
في عابود، نفّذت الرؤية العالمية تدريباً لإعداد ميسّرين في مجال الدعم النفسي والاجتماعي، بمشاركة 18 شاباً وشابةً من متطوّعي الكنيسة.
زوّد التدريب المشاركين بالمعارف والمهارات العملية لتيسير أنشطة الدعم النفسي والاجتماعي للأطفال ضمن مدارس الأحد، بما يسهم في توفير مساحات آمنة وداعمة تتيح للأطفال التعبير عن أنفسهم، وتطوير مهارات إيجابية للتكيّف، وتعزيز رفاههم العاطفي في ظل الظروف الصعبة.
Every child deserves a safe space to express their feelings and strengthen their mental well-being.
In Aboud, World Vision conducted Psychosocial Support (PSS) Training of Facilitators, bringing together 18 young church volunteers.
The training equipped participants with practical knowledge and skills to facilitate PSS activities for children through Sunday School, helping create safe and supportive spaces where children can express themselves, develop positive coping skills, and strengthen their emotional well-being amid challenging circumstances.

عندما تقع الطوارئ في الضفة الغربية، تستجيب طواقم الدفاع المدني الفلسطيني لحماية الأرواح. وتواجه المجتمعات المحلية عدداً متزايداً من الحوادث، فيما تعيق قيود الحركة وصول طواقم الاستجابة إليها، ما يجعل دور المتطوّعين المحليين المدرَّبين بالغ الأهمية.
تدعم الرؤية العالمية الدفاع المدني ومتطوّعيه بالموارد والمهارات التي يحتاجون إليها لحماية مجتمعاتهم. كما سلّمت الرؤية العالمية ستّ مقطورات إطفاء لتعزيز قدرتهم على الاستجابة للطوارئ.
والتقى وفد من الرؤية العالمية باللواء ركن أكرم ثوابتة، مدير عام الدفاع المدني الفلسطيني، لبحث سبل تعزيز هذه الشراكة. وركّز النقاش على:
• تجهيز الفرق الميدانية للاستجابة بسرعة أكبر وبمستوى أعلى من الأمان.
• الاستثمار في تطوير مهارات المتطوّعين وتعزيز قدراتهم.
• رفع الوعي المجتمعي بالوقاية والسلامة العامة.
التأهّب ينقذ الأرواح. فعندما تكون فرق الاستجابة المحلية مجهّزة جيداً، وتعرف المجتمعات كيفية الوقاية من المخاطر والتعامل معها، تتعزّز حماية الأطفال والأسر وسبل عيشها، وتتمكّن المجتمعات من التعافي بسرعة أكبر.
نشكر طواقم الدفاع المدني والمتطوّعين على التزامهم، ونتطلّع إلى مواصلة العمل معاً لبناء مجتمعات أكثر أماناً وقدرةً على الصمود.
When emergencies strike in the West Bank, Palestinian Civil Defence teams respond to protect lives. Communities are facing a growing number of incidents, while movement restrictions make it harder for responders to reach them. This is why trained local volunteers are so critical.
World Vision supports the Civil Defence and its volunteers with the resources and skills they need to protect their communities. World Vision also handed over six firefighting trailers to strengthen their emergency response capacity.
A World Vision delegation met Major General Akram Thawabteh, Director General of the Palestinian Civil Defence, to discuss strengthening this partnership. The discussion focused on:
• Equipping field teams to respond faster and more safely.
• Investing in volunteers’ skills and capacity.
• Raising community awareness of prevention and public safety.
Preparedness saves lives. When local responders are well equipped and communities know how to prevent and manage risks, children, families and their livelihoods are better protected, and communities can recover faster.
We thank Civil Defence teams and volunteers for their commitment and look forward to continuing our work together to build safer, more resilient communities.

يشكّل موسم قطف الزيتون مصدر رزق وغذاء لآلاف العائلات في الضفة الغربية. ومع تصاعد العنف وصعوبة الوصول إلى الأراضي الزراعية، يواجه المزارعون وعائلاتهم مخاطر متزايدة تهدّد سلامتهم وسبل عيشهم.
منذ بداية العام، تعمل مؤسسة الرؤية العالمية على تعزيز جاهزية المجتمعات للاستجابة للطوارئ، من خلال دعم نقاط الطواريء، وتجهيز مراكز الدفاع المدني الفلسطيني، وتأهيل المتطوعين المجتمعيين.

Olive Harvest: Ready to Respond
The olive harvest is a vital source of food and income for thousands of families across the West Bank. As violence escalates and access to farmland becomes more difficult, farmers and their families face growing risks to their safety and livelihoods.
Since the beginning of the year, World Vision has been helping communities prepare for emergencies by supporting trauma stabilisation points, equipping Palestinian Civil Defence centres, and preparing community volunteers to respond.
We will continue to stand with farmers and their families, responding to their urgent needs and helping protect their livelihoods throughout the olive harvest.

كل جلسة فرصة للاستماع والتعبير والتعلّم وبناء روابط أقوى.
خلال الفترة الماضية، نفّذ مكتب الوسط في مؤسسة الرؤيا العالمية جلسات للدعم النفسي الاجتماعي في سلفيت ونابلس وغور الأردن، استفاد منها 280 طفلاً و145 أمّاً، ضمن 18 مجموعة، بواقع 10 جلسات لكل مجموعة.
من خلال الأنشطة التفاعلية والفنية، وفّرت الجلسات مساحات آمنة للأطفال للتعبير عن مشاعرهم وتنمية مهاراتهم والتفاعل الإيجابي مع الآخرين. كما أتاحت للأمهات فرصة للمشاركة وتبادل الخبرات وتعزيز فهمهن لاحتياجات أطفالهن النفسية والعاطفية.
نواصل العمل ليجد الأطفال وأسرهم الدعم الذي يساعدهم على التكيّف مع التحديات، لأن الرفاه النفسي جزء أساسي من حماية الأطفال ونموّهم.
Every session is an opportunity to listen, express feelings, learn and build stronger connections.
World Vision’s Central Office recently delivered psychosocial support sessions in Salfit, Nablus and the Jordan Valley, reaching 280 children and 145 mothers through 18 groups, with 10 sessions per group.
Through interactive activities and art, the sessions provided safe spaces for children to express their feelings, develop their skills and connect positively with others. Mothers also had opportunities to share experiences and strengthen their understanding of their children’s psychological and emotional needs.
We continue working to help children and families access the support they need to cope with challenges, because psychological well-being is essential to children’s protection and development.

إذا مرّ يوم دون «لحظة الحنان»، يذكّر عبد الرحمن، 10 سنوات، والدته بها. يجلس في حضنها ويحكي لها ما يشغله، بينما تضع هاتفها وعملها جانباً لتستمع إليه.
كانت علاقتهما وثيقة منذ البداية. ومن خلال مشاركتهما في جلسات «سند» للدعم النفسي الاجتماعي من خلال الفن، التي تنفّذها الرؤية العالمية، أصبح تخصيص هذا الوقت معاً عادة يومية تقرّبهما أكثر.
أحياناً، يبدأ الدعم بوقت نصغي فيه لأطفالنا بكلّ اهتمام.

If a day passes without their “moment of tenderness”, ten-year-old Abdul Rahman reminds his mother. He sits in her lap and shares what is on his mind, while she puts her phone and work aside to listen.
Their bond was already strong. Through World Vision’s SANAD psychosocial support sessions using art and play, making time for each other became a daily routine that brought them even closer.
Sometimes, support begins with giving a child our undivided attention.

كان عبد السلام في الثامنة عشرة عندما أيقظته صرخات جيرانه فجراً. كان منزل قريب يحترق، وبقيت تلك الليلة في ذاكرته.
من تلك التجربة، بدأ التزامه بمساعدة مجتمعه. جمع شباباً من عقابا لتشكيل فريق تطوّعي، تلقّى التدريب والمعدات الأولى من مديرية الدفاع المدني الفلسطيني في طوباس. واليوم، يواصل عبد السلام وزملاؤه الاستجابة لحماية جيرانهم، بدعم من الرؤية العالمية التي وفّرت معدات، منها صهريج مياه مقطور يساعدهم على مواجهة حرائق أكبر.
"قرّرنا ألّا نتراجع، لأنّ الناس بحاجة إلينا. نحن هنا، ونحن مستعدّون".

Abed al Salam was 18 when his neighbours’ cries woke him before dawn. A nearby home was on fire. That night stayed with him.
It sparked a commitment to help his community. He brought young people in Aqaba together to form a volunteer team, trained and initially equipped by the Palestinian Civil Defence Directorate in Tubas. Today, Abed al Salam and his fellow volunteers continue responding to protect their neighbours, with World Vision providing equipment, including a towable water tank that helps them tackle larger fires.
“We decided not to step back, because people need us. We are here. We are ready.”

مساحة أكبر، ورعاية أفضل للأمهات والأطفال في الكرمل.
كانت عيادة الكرمل تقدّم خدماتها في غرفتين فقط، وسط ازدحام وضيق في المساحة. اليوم، أصبح لديها طابق إضافي مخصّص لصحة الأم والطفل، يوفّر خصوصية أكبر ويساعد الطواقم الصحية على تنظيم الرعاية بشكل أفضل.
بدعم من الرؤية العالمية وبتمويل من لجنة الطوارئ في حالات الكوارث، أُنشئ الطابق الجديد لتقديم خدمات متابعة الحمل، والتطعيمات، ومراقبة نمو الأطفال، والفحوصات الوقائية. وشمل الدعم أيضاً إنشاء وتجهيز نقطة لتثبيت الحالات الطارئة، وتوفير معدات ومستلزمات طبية وأثاث.
تخدم العيادة أكثر من 6,500 شخص من الكرمل والتجمعات المحيطة، بما فيها أجزاء من مسافر يطا. ولكل أم وطفل يزورانها، تعني هذه المساحة الجديدة رعاية في بيئة أكثر راحة وخصوصية، بالقرب من المنزل.

More space, better care for mothers and children in Al-Karmil.
Al-Karmil Clinic previously delivered its services in just two rooms, with overcrowding and limited space. Today, an additional floor dedicated to maternal and child health offers greater privacy and helps health workers organise care more effectively.
Supported by World Vision with funding from the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), the new floor provides space for antenatal care, vaccinations, growth monitoring and preventive examinations. Support also included establishing and equipping a stabilisation point and providing medical equipment, supplies and furniture.
The clinic serves more than 6,500 people from Al-Karmil and surrounding communities, including parts of Masafer Yatta. For mothers and children visiting the clinic, this additional space means care in a more comfortable and private environment, close to home.
