Chabad of Talbiya, Jerusalem Chabad of Talbiya, located in the heart of Jerusalem services both the physical and spiritual needs of the Jewish community regardless of affiliation.

Rabbi Eli and Chana Canterman, along with their five children,
serve as the shluchim to Talbiya, a prominent and prestigious neighborhood located in the heart of Jerusalem. It is the home of The Prime Minister, The President and many of the most lavish hotels in Jerusalem. One of the many programs available is an adult Jewish Education Center, offering a range of classes from the acclaimed Jewish Learning Institute, Shiurim on deep chassidic thought and Women's Rosh Chodesh Society. The Rabbi and Rebbetzin are well known for their friday night meals which are full of warmth, spirit and of course, delicious food. Extraordinary events for each of the Chagim are not to be missed!

FULL CIRCLE MOMENT FOR SASHA ARIEV, SISTER OF RETURNED HOSTAGE!💍🤍

For the third time, the Ariev family joined Chabad Mamilla Women’s Circle for a challah bake.

The first two, in 2023 and 2024, were filled with tears and tefillos as we beseeched Hashem for Karina Ariev’s return from captivity.

This time, Karina’s mother Ira and sister Sasha returned for a challah bake of Mazal and joy. Sasha is getting married next month, and the room erupted as she was showered with surprise wedding gifts by the women who had prayed alongside her through it all. 💍✨

We were honored to welcome special guests and co-hosts from Chabad of Markham and Romano, CA, led by Shluchus Goldie Plotkin and Toby Bernstein.

The room was lifted by the magnificent voice of Ricka Razel, joined by her daughter Michal and Hodaya Cohen. Even without a piano, the music carried every heart.

In a powerful dialogue facilitated by Bernice Fogel, Ira and Sasha reflected on all they have endured and shared a message that will remain with us:

Darkness itself can become a vessel for greater light.

As we enter the Nine Days, we hold close the unity, faith, and love felt in that room. Av means Father. Even in a month of mourning, we are never alone.

May Hashem transform these days into days of joy, redemption, and salvation. 🤍

FULL CIRCLE. 🤍

FROM GUT-WRENCHING TEARS TO TEARS OF TRIUMPH!💍❤️‍🩹:

We were honored in taking a part in celebrating the wedding of returned hostages Sasha and Sapir, alongside Yelena, Sasha’s mother, who was also held captive.💍❤️

Chabad Mamilla formed a close friendship with released hostages Yelena Troufanov and Sapir Cohen while hosting them at two gut-wrenching Chabad Talbiya-Mamilla Women’s Circle Loaves of Love challah Bakes, as we prayed for Sasha (Yelena’s son/Sapir’s fiancé’s) release from captivity…💔🙏

BUT THERE’S MORE!: once Sasha was returned, Yelena went to the next level! she came out for the THIRD time from Nir-Oz to bake and bless over challah to pray for the remaining hostages who were still in captivity.

This blessing must have tipped the bucket of G-d’s tears…❤️‍🔥

On Sunday we merited to watch three released, living miracles Yelena, Sasha, and Sapir celebrate true joy at Sasha and Sapir’s wedding!🥳❤️

HaShem heard you, Yelena!! Mazal tov now and forever!❤️‍🩹💍

Yelena, Sasha, and Sapir crystallize the power of faith, resilience, and strength, and that even when thrown the most impossible challenges, we can win by choosing LIFE!🥳❤️‍🩹
