In it, she argues that campaign season structurally rewards extremism. In the nine months after October 7, The New York Times published 6,656 articles connected to the war. During nine months of the US-led Battle of Mosul, it published just 80. The disparity goes beyond volume. Research has also identified striking imbalances in how Israel is covered compared with Rwanda and Darfur.Israel should face scrutiny. But scrutiny and obsession are not the same thing. The genocide libel did not emerge in an informational vacuum.
