"I was inspired to make Aliyah after a couple trips to Israel as a participant then staff on Taglit-Birthright Israel. I fell in love with being surrounded by people who felt like my family, despite not knowing anyone personally. One year of living in Israel quickly turned into two, to four, to now six years here, and it’s still the best decision I’ve ever made!

My small business is called Sew Cute Intl, and I sell wearable art. Hand-embroidered hats and bags; and handmade 925 Sterling Silver, gemstone, and pressed flower jewelry.

My life has always been full of art and creativity, so when the opportunity came for me to turn my hobbies into a true passion project, Iwas inspired to share and express myself through my craft. It’s been the most gratifying job I’ve ever had!
A fun fact that nobody knows about Sew Cute is that many of the pearls and gemstones I use in my collections are refurbished from my family’s jewelry collection.

I’m most excited for this Shuk Olim because the location is where I launched my business 4 years ago at Kikar Givon, and to be able to share my new and improved collections and creations with the amazing attendees!

See you at Shuk Olim TLV at Kikar Givon on June 25th from 17:00-22:00!"

150 singles came out for a Wine & Cheese Social on the NBN roof last week 🙌🏼🍷🧀

The crowd was diverse, and the weather delivered. Attendees enjoyed the wine bar, munched on cheese platters, desserts, and other dairy delights, and took in the view of Yerushalayim from the rooftop. A round of human bingo got people mingling and swapping stories.

One guest summed up the night: "I did attend your event last evening and it was lovely. I have a few friends I met there, whom I haven't seen in a long time, and met lots of nice, new interesting people. It was a happy atmosphere, delightful cheeses, fruits and drinks. Beautiful view of Yerushalayim from your roof. Please continue with your wonderful events."

"Israel really inspires my work since it feels like I'm seeing my paintings with my own eyes. My name is David Ratz. I live in Tel Aviv and made Aliyah from New York last July - I'm an artist and started painting 6 years ago.

A highlight of both my Aliyah and career as an artist was on Yom Ha'Aliyah in October when my art was projected on Habima in an exhibition called Aliyah to Tel Aviv.

Most of my art features Israeli landscapes and bright Jewish symbolism. I get requests to sell my art so I sell here and there, but Shuk Olim TLV is my first artist market!

I'm excited to share my art with the community and connect with other artists!

See you at Shuk Olim TLV at Kikar Givon on June 25th from 17:00-22:00!"

Israel is smaller than New Jersey, yet it has become one of the most influential and resilient nations in the world.

What's the secret behind its strength?

It's not what most people think.

🕯️ MAY HIS MEMORY BE A BLESSING | ברוך דיין האמת
English below

💔

Master Sergeant (res.) Aleksander (Sasha) Filin, who made Aliyah from Ukraine, was a Lone Soldier during his mandatory service. In reserves, he served as a combat soldier in the 36th Division Headquarters. Tragically, he fell in Southern Lebanon while serving his country.

Sasha will be remembered as an incredibly loyal, humble, brave, and positive friend - may his memory be a blessing.

The entire NBN-FIDF Lone Soldiers Program team extends deep condolences to the Filin family. We stand among the mourners of Zion and wish comfort for Sasha's family and all of Am Yisrael HY”D.

"Every time I visited Israel growing up, I felt a sense of belonging that I couldn't fully explain. It was the one place where I felt completely myself.

Making Aliyah at 18 was my way of building a life in the place that felt most like home. It gave me purpose, incredible experiences, and lifelong friendships, but more than anything, it allowed me to create the life I had always imagined for myself in Israel.

My name is Hilli Marcu. I live in Tel Aviv and made Aliyah from Florida, USA, in 2017. I own What The Ficus, a boutique plant shop in Tel Aviv. We sell houseplants, pots, gifts, and offer plant styling and workshops. I started the business because I wanted to create a welcoming space where people could connect with nature, learn about plants, and feel confident bringing greenery into their homes.

What most people don't know is that anyone who buys a plant at my shop has free WhatsApp support and can bring their plant in to the What The Ficus emergency room for a quick free fix!

I'm excited for the Shuk Olim specifically to meet other Olim entrepreneurs, share my story, and connect with people who love plants and supporting small businesses. Building a business as an Olah comes with unique challenges and rewards, and I'm looking forward to being part of a community of people who took a leap of faith and built something meaningful in Israel.

See you at Shuk Olim TLV at Kikar Givon on June 25th from 17:00-22:00!"

"I made Aliyah from Calgary, Canada, and I now live in Tel Aviv. Living in Israel has given me a profound sense of meaning that I simply didn't have in Canada.

My experiences here have pushed me further than I ever thought possible, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Israel didn't just enhance my life, it showed me what I'm actually capable of. I carry that benchmark with me every day, in business and in life. Nothing feels insurmountable when you know what you've already been through.

Israel is where I found my passion for real estate, and it's also where I met my wife. I recently launched zionistinvestor.com As a Canadian-born Oleh and active real estate agent in the Tel Aviv area, I've watched countless diaspora buyers navigate a fragmented, confusing market with no real starting point. Zionist Investor is an AI-powered platform that gives international buyers the context, guidance, and curated listings they need to make a decision with confidence. Think of it as my one-on-one client experience, available to anyone, anywhere, at any time.

October 7th was the most defining moment of my life, and as a country we entered a new reality overnight. There were aspects that no amount of preparation could prepare you for, even communicating with my wife and family through handwritten notes. As for the recent war with Iran, during the last round in June 2025 I got stuck outside the country, and I had never so badly wanted to get back any way possible, even while missiles were raining down. When you live in Israel, you are quite literally living through history. When you live outside Israel, you are watching it unfold from the sidelines.

I learned that trying to replicate the life you had in your country of origin is the wrong approach. This country rewards what you put in. If you come open to new ways of doing things, willing to adapt and embrace the culture on its own terms, you'll land much softer than you expected."

Meet Danielle Barta, Global Jewish Education Content Creator at the National Library of Israel and one of our dynamic Zionist Education Initiative (ZEI) Educators.

"My work in Jewish education spans over 17 years, designing creative, experiential programs that help people of all ages build and deepen their connection to Am Yisrael, Eretz Yisrael, and Medinat Yisrael.

I believe cultural advocacy is the most powerful way to showcase Israel's contributions to the world and highlight everything it still has to offer.

During my spare time, you'll most likely find me dreaming up the next program that gets people genuinely excited about being Jewish and loving this land.

What excites me most about being part of ZEI is the opportunity to think deeply about Israel education alongside a diverse and passionate community of educators."

Danielle made Aliyah from Teaneck, NJ in 2011 and holds a BA in International Relations from Rutgers University and an MA in Education from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Danielle will be teaching ZEI classes on our campus.

We're thrilled to welcome Danielle's creativity and expertise into our growing ZEI community. To learn more and to book your group for a ZEI class taught by Danielle visit us at zei.nbn.org.il
