Haifa Bauhaus Week!

The Society for the History of Haifa, together with various partners, has launched a fantastic initiative to celebrate Haifa Bauhaus Week this November (November 8–15).

For anyone wondering: we have some amazing Bauhaus architecture in the city (well, that’s not the technical name for the style, but let’s roll with it since that’s what everyone calls it). It is diverse, high-quality, abundant, and widely distributed, featuring fascinating stories and unique details. Yet, for various reasons (a topic for a separate lecture), Tel Aviv stole the spotlight—surprising, right? But we are certainly putting up a serious fight on this front.

Kudos to the Society for taking the initiative to organize this week, which will include an exhibition, tours, lectures, open-house events, and more. Detailed announcements will follow.

In the meantime, the Society has issued several calls for participation, so you are invited to get involved and be part of it. That is the beauty of this week—there is plenty of room for residents to participate.

I can share that I will be leading a tour as part of the event (details to come) and will also be featured in two exhibitions (displaying both photographs and artworks that I really love). שבוע הבאוהאוס החיפאי!

העמותה לתולדות חיפה יחד עם שלל שותפים יצאו ביוזמה נהדרת לחגוג את שבוע הבאוהאוס החיפאי בחודש נובמבר (8-15.11).

לכל מי שתהה, יש לנו אחלה באוהאוס בעיר (טוב זה לא השם האמיתי של הסגנון אבל נזרום כי זה מה שכולם מכירים): מגוון, איכותי, בכמות גדולה, בתפרוסת נרחבת, עם סיפורים מרתקים ופרטים ייחודיים. אבל מסיבות כאלו ואחרות (זה נושא להרצאה נפרדת) את הבכורה גנבה....תל אביב (מפתיע לא?) ואנחנו ממש נותנים פייט רציני בנושא הזה.

לכן כל הכבוד לעמותה שהרימה את הכפפה בשבוע שיכלול תערוכה, סיורים, הרצאות, בתים פתוחים ועוד. פרסומים מפורטים יהיו בהמשך.

בינתיים העמותה יצאה עם כל מיני קולות קוראים אז מוזמנים להכנס ולהיות חלק. זה גם מה שיפה בשבוע הזה, יש מקום להרבה השתתפות של התושבים והתושבות בעיר.

אני יכול לספר שאני אעביר סיור במסגרת האירוע הזה (פרטים בהמשך) ואציג גם בשתי תערוכות (תמונות וגם עבודות אומנות שאני מאוד אוהב).

Since , 2023, the Total victims were 2,347. Counting 1,153 IDF soldiers; 116 police officers; 9 Shin Bet operatives; 11 Prison employees;5 rescue personnel; 43 security officers.Due to Rocket attacks, 1,029 civilians were killed, including 63 children. A total of 778 people were killed on 6hrs, and another 251 were lost in following 36 months. 216 civilian hostages returned from the Gaza. 7,150 have lost loved ones. 880 orphans, and 3,700 lost siblings. 🕯 Yuval Raphael
