Changing the law was an important step. But leaving prostitution is rarely as simple as deciding to walk away.

Debt, unstable housing, limited employment opportunities, dependency and coercion can overlap, creating barriers that reinforce one another. When the structures that keep someone trapped remain in place, prohibition alone cannot create a sustainable way out.

That is why Project NOA looks beyond the law. Through legal assistance, policy advocacy and public awareness, we work to address both sides of the problem: reducing the demand that fuels exploitation while strengthening the pathways that can help people leave it behind.

Because the goal should not only be to make prostitution harder to buy.

It should be to make exploitation easier to escape.

International institutions do not lose credibility only when they fail to act. They lose it when their own appointments contradict the principles they claim to defend.

This is bigger than Iran. It is a question of whether positions inside the UN still represent responsibility and legitimacy — or have become diplomatic prizes detached from conduct.

Human rights standards mean very little if those accused of systematically violating them are repeatedly invited to help shape the institutions meant to protect those standards.

At some point, contradiction becomes complicity.

For centuries, Jews were expected to survive quietly.

To endure persecution. To absorb violence. To depend on the mercy of governments, armies, and societies that too often failed them when it mattered most.

Israel changed that.

The Jewish people are no longer powerless observers of their own fate. When Jewish lives are threatened, there is now a Jewish state capable of defending them. When enemies promise destruction, Israel does not wait to discover whether they mean it.

Menachem Begin understood that this would not always make Israel popular.

A Jew who refuses to be a victim can make the world uncomfortable. A Jewish state that fights back can be condemned more fiercely than those who attack it. Strength is often demanded of every nation — until Jews exercise it themselves.

But survival was never supposed to be popular.

Israel does not exist to satisfy the expectations of those who preferred the Jew defenseless. It exists so that Jewish survival will never again depend entirely on somebody else’s courage.

The world may not always like the fighting Jew.

But it can no longer ignore him.

IDF locates the remains of Sgt. First Class Yehuda Katz, missing since the 1982 First Lebanon War.

After 44 years of uncertainty, the remains of Sgt. First Class Yehuda Katz have been located. Katz was the last soldier still missing from the 1982 Battle of Sultan Yacoub. His family has been notified.

Katz disappeared on June 11, 1982, during the First Lebanon War. For more than four decades, his family and Israel waited for answers.

The two other soldiers who remained missing from the battle for decades were eventually brought home: Zachary Baumel in 2019 and Zvi Feldman in 2025. With the discovery of Katz’s remains, the fate of the last of the three has finally been resolved.

44 years later, the search has come to an end. May his memory be a blessing.

When sirens sound, most people run to shelter.

But what happens to those who cannot?

For people with disabilities, elderly citizens, children with special needs, and families who require accessible protection, reaching a safe space during a missile attack can be impossible without advance preparation.

That is why the Jerusalem Institute of Justice filed petitions with the Israeli Supreme Court, calling on the Government of Israel to ensure that people with disabilities are evacuated in advance to accessible and adapted protected spaces during wartime.

Following these petitions, the Knesset Labor and Welfare Committee approved emergency regulations for wartime evacuation of people with disabilities.

This is a historic achievement — and a life-saving step forward.

It means that some of Israel’s most vulnerable citizens will no longer be treated as an afterthought when missiles are falling. Their safety, dignity, and right to protection must be part of emergency planning from the beginning.
