At ALYN, Rehabilitation Is About the Whole Child 💙🎭

Months of rehabilitation can be demanding, especially when you’re only 10 years old. For Yuval, recovering at ALYN after complex leg surgery meant hard work, treatments, and rebuilding her independence. But thanks to therapeutic performances by the Gilat Foundation, there were also moments to laugh, choose, participate, and simply be a child again.

As ALYN’s Dr. Emmanuel Kornitzer explains in this new feature from The Media Line, emotional wellbeing and physical recovery go hand in hand.
We’re proud that ALYN is a place where partnerships like this can become part of the rehabilitation journey, caring not only for a child’s body, but for the whole child.

“My Heart Is Broken. I’m Sad to Leave ALYN.”💙

During Sukkot, Teatron HaKaron brought “What’s Happening to My Heart?”, a special performance about emotions, to ALYN.

At the end, one child surprised everyone by sharing what was happening in his own heart: “My heart is broken because I’m sad to leave ALYN.”

His physical rehabilitation had been challenging. But during that journey, he had also found a place where he felt safe, cared for, and deeply connected to the team around him.

For the children, families, and staff listening, it was an emotional reminder that rehabilitation is about more than physical recovery. Sometimes, moving forward also means saying a difficult goodbye. 💙

Ready. Set. Ride! Meet the New Swift & Bold Team 🚴

A new year is off to a flying start for ALYN’s special cycling team, with younger riders, new faces, and LOTS of determination!

**Swift & Bold** was built on a simple idea: rehabilitation doesn’t end in the therapy room. On their bikes, the children build strength, push their limits, discover what they can do, and become a true team of riders.

Judging by these five, we’re in for one very Swift & Bold year! 💙

Sometimes, Treatment Starts with a Smile 🤡💙

At ALYN, our medical clowns are more than a reason to laugh. They are an important part of the care team, accompanying children through challenging moments, easing anxiety, and helping them engage in their rehabilitation.

Their tools may be unusual, play, laughter, and a little silliness, but their purpose is serious: helping children feel safe enough to participate, try, and simply be children.
Because sometimes, a smile is the first step forward.

Rehabilitation Is Blooming at ALYN 💐

Summer may be winding down, but at ALYN, rehabilitation keeps moving forward, with plenty of room for fun along the way.
This time, flower arranging became therapy. Choosing, holding, trimming, and arranging each flower helped children practice fine motor skills while creating something beautiful of their own.
And the best part? Everyone finished with a colorful bouquet to brighten their hospital room or take home. 🌸
Because rehabilitation can build skills, confidence, and sometimes, a beautiful bouquet too.

Some Goodbyes Come with Gratitude 💙

For a whole year, they were there through the laughter, the challenges, and the little victories that make ALYN so special.

As we say goodbye to our incredible National Service volunteers, we thank them for the compassion, energy, and heart they brought to every child and family they met.

Now, we look forward to welcoming a new group of volunteers this September, ready to begin their own journey of making a difference.
