For years, she carried a secret.

A secret hidden beneath thick eyeliner, behind glasses, and beneath the daily calculations required to make sure no one noticed.

This coming Tuesday, we’ll be participating in a course with **Ma’aglei Nefesh**, where one of the topics being explored is trichotillomania and the ways invisible struggles can impact women’s lives and experiences. In anticipation of that conversation, we invite you to read this powerful personal reflection.

In this deeply personal essay, one woman shares her experience living with trichotillomania—a compulsive hair-pulling disorder—and the unique challenges of navigating it as a frum woman. From the shame and secrecy to the monthly reckoning of standing before the mikveh mirror with nothing left to hide, her story offers a powerful glimpse into an invisible struggle that many people never see.

“There is only one time the entire month I need to see my bald eyelids. And that is at the mikveh.”

By sharing her story, she reminds us that we rarely know what burdens others are carrying—and that compassion, both for ourselves and for those around us, matters.

Your wedding day is about so much more than the flowers, seating chart, or timeline. ✨

The most meaningful moments are often the small, intentional choices — wearing your grandmother’s jewelry, receiving a bracha from your parents, taking a quiet moment together after the chuppah, or finding ways to honor the people and traditions that shaped you.

As you prepare to build a Jewish home together, remember: the details you’ll cherish most are the ones filled with meaning, connection, and heart. 🤍

Which idea resonates with you most?

Relationships don’t run on autopilot, not our relationship with Hashem, and not our relationships with each other. 🛑❤️

Every year on Shavuot, we don’t just remember the giving of the Torah; we relive the renewal of our ultimate covenant. But how do we sustain that baseline closeness on a daily basis?

By implementing the divine strategy of מועד intentionally protecting sacred time and sacred space to meet each other without the noise, screens, or stress of the outside world.

Swipe left to see what making your own “Mishkan” looks like in a modern marriage. 🛌📱✨

This chag, ask yourself and your partner: Where is our Ohel Moed? What time and space are we actively protecting for each other? Chag Sameach! 🌾

How do we protect women while staying true to our highest community values? 🕊️

Dr. Naomi Grumet, founder and director of The Eden Center, reflects on the vital conversation surrounding get-refusal and community accountability. While we must stand firmly against get-refusal and push for halachic prenups at every level, from kallah teachers to social media platforms, the methods we choose matter.

We must implement solutions that elevate women’s status, respect our bodies, and remain deeply aligned with our halachic and communal values.

Let’s change the culture together, safely, respectfully, and decisively. Raise the issue on your platforms today.

Forget ghosts and monsters, navigating medical dismissal, community pressure, and the heavy toll of miluim is the real suspense thriller, but The Eden Center is here to ensure no woman has to face these challenges alone.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. 🧠💚

In our community, we often talk about the beauty of building a home, but we don’t always talk about the “unedited” emotional work that goes into it. Mental health isn’t just an individual journey, it’s a shared one.

When one partner is navigating a season of anxiety, depression, or burnout, the “atmospheric pressure” of the relationship changes. It can shift how we communicate, how we experience intimacy, and how we show up for one another in our most sacred spaces.

At The Eden Center, we are committed to breaking the silence. This month, we’re focusing on how emotional health and relational health go hand-in-hand. Understanding this connection is the first step toward building a home that isn’t just beautiful on the outside, but resilient and supportive on the inside.

Let’s use this month to check in, not just with ourselves, but with those we love most.

Mother’s Day can hold so many different emotions at once.

Joy. Gratitude. Exhaustion. Longing. Pride. Grief. Love. Loneliness.

Today we celebrate mothers.
But we also hold space for the women who are waiting, grieving, navigating complicated relationships, mothering in unseen ways, or carrying more than anyone realizes.

There is no one way to be a mother.
And there is no one way to feel today.

Sending love to all of you. 🤍
