🌍✨ Today, our students had the opportunity to visit the Shalva National Center in Jerusalem – a world-renowned organization dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities and promoting inclusion.

During the tour, they explored the incredible programs that Shalva offers, from sports and handcraft workshops to religious activities, all designed to empower and enrich the lives of its participants.

Beyond just learning about the center, our students engaged with the inspiring individuals who are part of the Shalva community, sharing meaningful moments and gaining a deeper appreciation for the importance of accessibility and inclusion.

To top it off, they visited the Shalva Café, where they experienced firsthand how the center integrates people with disabilities into the workforce – an inspiring example of true inclusion in action.

A huge thank you to Shalva for welcoming us and for the incredible work they do! 💙♿️

This week, our students had the unique opportunity to visit the Knesset, Israel’s Parliament, and gain a deeper understanding of the country’s democratic processes and cultural heritage.

The tour included learning about the Declaration of Independence, a foundational document in Israel’s history, and admiring the stunning works of Marc Chagall, including mosaics and tapestries that beautifully depict the story of Israel.

We visited the wall of Israel Prize laureates who were also Members of the Knesset, a powerful tribute to leaders who have made an impact both in public service and the arts.

Our group explored the real-time technology of the Knesset, where screens provide live updates on members' attendance, legislation, and more.

We stepped into a committee room to understand how various committees work to shape policy, and finally, we had the honor of sitting in the plenary hall, where we listened to speeches from three MKs (Members of Knesset).

It was an inspiring day that gave our students a closer look at Israeli democracy in action!

🌿 A Day to Remember at Ein Yael! 🌿

Last Friday, we embarked on a magical journey to Ein Yael, where history, creativity, and community came together for a truly unforgettable experience.

We started our day with a historical tour of the site, learning about the rich past of this unique location nestled in the hills of Jerusalem. The fascinating stories of ancient times brought the place to life, making us feel connected to its heritage.

Next, we got hands-on with two incredible workshops:
🧺 Basket Weaving – We tapped into our creative sides and learned the traditional art of basket weaving.
🎨 Fresco Painting – Channeling our inner artists, we created our own frescoes inspired by ancient techniques.

Of course, no event is complete without great food! We enjoyed a shared breakfast in the fresh air, with everyone bringing something delicious to the table. It was a beautiful way to connect, share stories, and celebrate the morning together.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made this day so special! We hope you left with new skills, new friends, and wonderful memories. 🌟

🐾 A Heartwarming Day at the JSPCA 🐶🐱

This Friday, we had the incredible opportunity to volunteer at the Jerusalem Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (JSPCA) in Atarot. It was a meaningful day filled with compassion, teamwork, and lots of wagging tails!

Here’s what we did together:
- Walked nearly 50 dogs, giving them the exercise and care they need.

- Cuddled orphaned puppies, providing them with warmth, love, and much-needed affection.

- Helped feed the animals and assisted with cleaning the shelter to ensure a clean and safe environment.

We are so proud of everyone who joined us for this special activity. Your kindness and dedication truly made a difference in the lives of these animals.

A big thank you to the JSPCA for welcoming us and for the vital work they do every day to protect and care for animals in need.

Stay tuned for more volunteering opportunities—we can’t wait to see you next time!

🏞️ Masada & Dead Sea Adventure🌊

On Friday, we embarked on an incredible journey full of history, breathtaking views, and unforgettable experiences!

We began our day at the majestic Masada. Taking the cable car to the top, we explored this historical site, wandering through ancient ruins and learning about the remarkable events that shaped its story. From the impressive city structure to the tragic tale of the Jewish rebellion against the Romans, Masada left us both inspired and reflective.

Later, it was time to unwind with the highlight of the day – floating in the Dead Sea at Ein Bokek beach! The crystal-clear, salty waters, paired with stunning mountain views, offered the perfect blend of relaxation and awe. We soaked in the unique experience, shared laughter, and returned home recharged and smiling.

Here’s to more days like this – blending history, fun, and connection. 🌟

Last Thursday, we came together at the French Hill Community Center Hall for an unforgettable night celebrating the rich diversity and unity of African culture! Our HUJI African students shared their talents and traditions, bringing the spirit of Africa to life right here in Jerusalem.

From lively music and dances representing Africa’s many regions to a thrilling DJ session that had everyone moving, the night was filled with energy and joy. We were treated to delicious Ethiopian food, a traditional coffee ceremony, and a showcase of African fashion, makeup, and accessories that highlighted the continent's unique and colorful heritage.

The evening was capped off with exciting prizes and gifts, making it truly a celebration of peace, unity, and togetherness!

To all who attended and supported this event—thank you for helping us create an atmosphere of cultural harmony and shared joy. Let’s continue to celebrate and honor the diversity that makes our community so vibrant!
