"إنجازٌ مهمّ للمسيحيين في إسرائيل تعيين جورج ديك مبعوثًا خاصًا إلى العالم المسيحي"
في خطوةٍ سياسية ودبلوماسية تحمل أبعادًا استراتيجية ودينية وثقافية، أعلن وزير الخارجية عدجون ساعر عن تعيين السفير الإسرائيلي السابق في اذربيجان جورج ديك ، مبعوثًا خاصًا لدولة إسرائيل إلى العالم المسيحي وذلك في إطار خطة متكاملة عملت عليها وزارة الخارجية مؤخرًا بهدف تعزيز العلاقات، وتوطيد جسور التواصل البنّاء مع العالم المسيحي، لا سيّما في الجوانب الدينية والثقافية والدبلوماسية.
تُعدّ هذه الخطوة مباركةً ومهمةً في هذا التوقيت الحساس، إذ تهدف إلى إعادة بناء الثقة، وترسيخ الشراكة، وتقريب العالم المسيحي من الأراضي المقدسة مهد المسيحية، حيث وُلد وعاش وعلّم وتألم وقام منها ربّ المجد يسوع المسيح.
ويُذكر أنّ هذا المنصب استُحدث مؤخرًا بعد دراسةٍ معمّقة لأبعاد الحرب المستمرة منذ السابع من أكتوبر، وانعكاساتها على العلاقات الخارجية لدولة إسرائيل، خصوصًا مع العالم المسيحي. فقد دفعت نتائج الحرب الممتدة، وما رافقها من تحولات إقليمية ودولية، العديد من الدول ذات الغالبية المسيحية إلى إعادة تقييم مواقفها وإعادة ترتيب أوراقها السياسية تجاه إسرائيل.
لقد أثبتت إسرائيل ومعها مقاتلو جيش الدفاع الإسرائيلي، أنّ هذه ليست مجرد حرب للدفاع عن حدود الدولة ومواطنيها، بل حربٌ وجودية ومفصلية في التاريخ الحديث، غيّرت المعادلات الإقليمية، وأعادت تشكيل الواقع الجيوسياسي في الشرق الأوسط والعالم. وفي هذا السياق، ينظر كثيرون إلى إسرائيل باعتبارها خط الدفاع الأول عن القيم الغربية، وعن أمن واستقرار أوروبا في واحدةٍ من أكثر المناطق اشتعالًا وتعقيدًا في العالم.
ولا يمكن إغفال التزايد المقلق في جرائم معاداة السامية والكراهية ضد اليهود حول العالم؛ من جرائم قتل، واعتداءات جسدية، وتدنيس للكنس، وتخريب للممتلكات، وصولًا إلى مضايقات يومية تستهدف الأفراد والمؤسسات الثقافية والدينية على حدّ سواء.
إنّ الحوار بين الأديان، وتعميق العلاقة اليهودية المسيحية يشكّلان حجر الأساس لبناء جسور المحبة والتعايش والتفاهم المتبادل، وتبادل الخبرات الروحية والثقافية. فالشجرة المسيحية المثمرة تستمد قوتها وإيمانها وعطاءها من جذورها اليهودية، ومن هنا تنبع أهمية الاعتراف بحق الشعب اليهودي في العيش بأمن وسلام في هذه الأرض المقدسة التي تشكّل بيتًا روحيًا وتاريخيًا لنا جميعًا.
ويحمل تعيين جورج ديك دلالاتٍ رمزية ووطنية عميقة فهو من مواليد يافا حي العجمي عام 1984، وحاصل على درجة البكالوريوس في الحقوق من جامعة- هرتسيليا ، كما كان زميلًا في برنامج برنامج فولبرايت
في جامعة جورج تاون في الولايات المتحدةالأمريكية.
والده المرحوم جوزيف ديك، كان مستشارًا ضريبيًا وأحد أبرز القيادات المسيحية في يافا، حيث شغل منصب رئيس الجمعية الأرثوذكسية. أما جدته، فهي من أصول أرمنية، وهي ناجية من الإبادة الجماعية التي ارتكبها العثمانيون بحق المسيحيين من الأرمن واليونان والسريان عام 1915، وهي مأساة تاريخية لا تزال حاضرة في الذاكرة الجماعية لشعوب المنطقة.
أبارك لسفيرنا جورج ديك على هذه الثقة المستحقة، وأصلّي من أجل نجاحه في هذه الرسالة النبيلة والمقدسة، لما لها من أثرٍ كبير ليس فقط على مكانة إسرائيل في العالم المسيحي، بل أيضًا على واقع المسيحيين في الداخل، وتعزيز حضورهم ودورهم ومكانتهم في المجتمع والدولة.
إنها خطوة في الاتجاه الصحيح ورسالة واضحة بأن إسرائيل ترى في المسيحيين شركاء حقيقيين في صناعة المستقبل وبناء الوطن وفي ترسيخ قيم الإيمان والحرية والسلام.

במהלך דיפלומטי ואסטרטגי בעל משמעות מדינית, דתית ותרבותית, הודיע שר החוץ גדעון סער על מינויו של שגריר ישראל לשעבר באזרבייג'ן ג'ורג' דיק, לשליח מיוחד של מדינת ישראל לעולם הנוצרי, מינוי זה נעשה במסגרת תוכנית מקיפה שגובשה לאחרונה במשרד החוץ במטרה לחזק את היחסים ולטפח הידברות בונה עם הקהילה הנוצרית העולמית, במיוחד במישורים הדתי, התרבותי והדיפלומטי.
זהו צעד חשוב ומבורך בעת רגישה ומכרעת המבקש לבנות מחדש אמון לחזק שותפויות, ולקרב את העולם הנוצרי אל ארץ הקודש ערש הנצרות, שבה נולד ישוע המשיח, חי, לימד, סבל, נצלב וקם לתחייה
ראוי לציין כי תפקיד זה נוצר לאחר בחינה מעמיקה של השלכות המלחמה המתמשכת מאז השבעה באוקטובר והשפעתה על יחסי החוץ של ישראל ובפרט עם העולם הנוצרי. המלחמה המתמשכת והשינויים הגיאו פוליטיים שנלוו לה הובילו מדינות רבות בעלות רוב נוצרי לבחון מחדש את עמדותיהן ולעדכן את מדיניותן כלפי ישראל.
ישראל יחד עם חיילי צה"ל הוכיחה שאין זו רק מלחמה להגנה על המדינה ואזרחיה אלא עימות קיומי ומכונן בהיסטוריה המודרנית עימות ששינה את מאזן הכוחות האזורי ועיצב מחדש את המציאות הגיאו פוליטית במזרח התיכון ומעבר לו. בהקשר זה רבים רואים בישראל קו הגנה ראשון של ערכי המערב ועמוד תווך בשמירה על ביטחונה ויציבותה של אירופה באחד האזורים הרגישים והנפיצים בעולם.
לא פחות מדאיגה היא העלייה החדה באנטישמיות ובשנאה כלפי יהודים ברחבי העולם לרבות מקרי רצח, תקיפות אלימות, חילול בתי כנסת, השחתת רכוש והטרדות יומיומיות נגד יחידים ומוסדות תרבותיים ודתיים יהודים כאחד.
דיאלוג בין דתי והעמקת היחסים בין יהודים לנוצרים הם אבני יסוד בבניית גשרים של אהבה, דוקיום על בסיס רוחני לאומי, הבנה הדדית וחילופי ערכים רוחניים ותרבותיים.
העץ הנוצרי הפורח שואב את כוחו אמונתו וחיוניותו משורשיו היהודיים מתוך תפיסה זו, ההכרה בזכותו של העם היהודי לחיות בביטחון ובשלום בארץ הקודש היא ציווי מוסרי והיסטורי כאחד, שכן ארץ ישראל היא בית רוחני והיסטורי לכולנו.
למינויו של ג'ורג' דיק משמעות סמלית ולאומית עמוקה, דיק, יליד יפו משכונת עג'מי בשנת 1984,הוא בעל תואר ראשון במשפטים מאוניברסיטת הרצליה, והיה עמית בתוכנית פולברייט של אוניברסיטת ג'ורג' טאון ארה"ב.
אביו המנוח יוסף דיק, היה יועץ מס בכיר ואחד המנהיגים הנוצרים הבולטים ביפו, ושימש כיו"ר האגודה האורתודוקסית. סבתו, ממוצא ארמני, ניצלה מרצח העם שביצעה האימפריה העות'מאנית נגד נוצרים ארמנים, יוונים וסורים בשנת 1915 טרגדיה היסטורית הצרובה בזיכרון הקולקטיבי של עמי האזור.
אנו ביוזמת הירושלמים מברכים את שגרירנו ג'ורג' דיק על המינוי הראוי הזה ונושאים תפילה למען הצלחתו בשליחות אצילית וקדושה זו. השפעתה צפויה לחרוג מחיזוק מעמדה של ישראל בעולם הנוצרי ולהשפיע לחיוב גם על מעמדם, ייצוגם ותפקידם של הנוצרים בתוך ישראל.
זהו צעד בכיוון הנכון ומסר ברור לכך שמדינת ישראל רואה בנוצרים שותפים אמיתיים בעיצוב העתיד ובקידום ערכי הנצח של אמונה, חירות ושלום.

"A Significant Achievement for Christians in Israel The Appointment of George Deek as Special Envoy to the Christian World"
In a strategic diplomatic initiative carrying political, religious, and cultural significance, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced the appointment of former Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan, George Deek, as the State of Israel’s Special Envoy to the Christian world. This appointment comes within the framework of a comprehensive plan recently developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to strengthen relations and foster constructive engagement with the global Christian community, particularly in religious, cultural, and diplomatic spheres.
This important and welcome step comes at a sensitive and pivotal moment. It seeks to rebuild trust, reinforce partnerships, and bring the Christian world closer to the Holy Land the cradle of Christianity, where Jesus Christ was born, lived, taught, suffered, was crucified, and rose again.
It is noteworthy that this position was created following an in-depth assessment of the far-reaching implications of the ongoing war since October 7 and its impact on Israel’s foreign relations, particularly with the Christian world. The prolonged conflict and the geopolitical shifts accompanying it have prompted many Christian majority nations to reassess their positions and recalibrate their policies toward Israel.
Israel, together with the soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces, has demonstrated that this is not merely a war to defend the state and its citizens, but an existential and defining conflict in modern history one that has altered regional equations and reshaped the geopolitical reality of the Middle East and beyond. In this context, many view Israel as a frontline defender of Western values and a key pillar in preserving the security and stability of Europe in one of the world’s most volatile regions.
Equally concerning is the alarming rise in antisemitism and anti-Jewish hatred worldwide, including acts of violence, murder, the desecration of synagogues, vandalism of property, and daily harassment targeting individuals as well as cultural and religious institutions.
Interfaith dialogue and the deepening of Jewish-Christian relations remain foundational pillars for building bridges of love, coexistence, mutual understanding and the exchange of spiritual and cultural values. The flourishing Christian tree draws strength, faith, and vitality from its Jewish roots. From this perspective, recognition of the Jewish people’s right to live in peace and security in this Holy Land is both a moral and historical imperative, as this land is a spiritual and historical home to us all.
The appointment of George Deek carries profound symbolic and national significance. Born in Jaffa’s Ajami neighborhood in 1984, he holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Reichman University in Herzliya and was a Fulbright Program Fellow at Georgetown University in the United States.
His late father, Joseph Deek, was a tax advisor and one of the most prominent Christian leaders in Jaffa, having served as President of the Orthodox Society. His grandmother, of Armenian descent, survived the genocide perpetrated by the Ottoman Empire against Armenian, Greek, and Syriac Christians in 1915 a historical tragedy that remains deeply embedded in the collective memory of the region’s peoples.

Its impact is likely to extend beyond strengthening Israel’s standing in the Christian world to positively influencing the status, representation, and role of Christians within Israel itself.
This is a step in the right direction and a clear message that Israel sees Christians as genuine partners in shaping the future and in advancing the enduring values of faith, freedom and peace.
