AACI is about much more than travel.

Recently, AACI held its annual Memorial Ceremony honoring North Americans who gave their lives in service to Israel.

It’s one of the many things AACI does throughout the year that reflects what the organization is really about: community, connection to Israel, and remembering those who helped make our lives here possible.

The Media Line covered the ceremony and the people and stories behind it.

Celebrate Hanukkah with AACI on the Mediterranean 🕎

From November 29–December 10, we’ll be sailing from Haifa to Greece, Italy and Malta, with a fully kosher program, guided land tours and Shabbat together.

We’ll also celebrate Hanukkah as a group, with communal candle lighting led by Rav Yitzchak Rubenstein.

One of the nice things about this cruise is how much is already included, from meals and land tours to tips and transportation to the Haifa port. You can see the full list in the post below.

You can plan the itinerary. You can choose the hotels. You can organize every detail.

But one part of a group trip can’t really be planned: the group itself.

People arrive from different places, often knowing only a few others, and then spend days exploring, eating, laughing and experiencing something new together.

By the end, the group photo means a little more than it did at the beginning.

Meet our Guide: Michael Tuchfeld 🌍

For Michael, guiding an AACI group is about much more than showing travelers a new destination. It’s about the people, the experiences they share, and the connections they make along the way.

“There is a very special atmosphere, almost like a family traveling together. There is usually a wonderful sense of humor and plenty of good spirit.”

Some of the moments that stay with him most are those that connect travel with Jewish history and identity, from standing together at Holocaust memorials to visiting synagogues that once served Jewish communities around the world.

“We usually mark these occasions by reciting Psalms, sharing a few words and reflections, and concluding together with the singing of ‘Hatikvah.’”

And what does Michael hope travelers bring home?

Much more than photographs.

“They will carry memories of moving moments, conversations and stories about the people and places we encounter... Just as importantly, they will take home new friendships.”

For Michael, that’s what makes AACI Travel special: putting the travelers’ enjoyment, experience and the value they gain from every journey at the heart of what we do. 💙
