How can identities take shape through encounter and dialogue with the other?
We believe that Israeli-Palestinian dialogue is a meaningful stage in building a shared, inclusive, and just society. But beyond strengthening our ability to communicate and live together, side by side, encountering the other can help us examine the narrative that is familiar to us, and raise questions such as:
Who am I within my own group?
What have I taken for granted?
How does the story I grew up with shape what I see today?
The encounter that takes place between different narratives, beliefs, and traditions enables us to ask questions, develop critical thinking, and position ourselves within our own group of belonging, with openness to getting to know the other, and with recognition of power gaps and inequality.
Shared dialogue enables us to build trust, broaden perspectives, and create change.
