Today, 200 amazing kids from the Gaza envelope came together for a fun day at the Jewish Agency’s Fund for Victims of Terror summer camp, supported by Keren Hayesod. Giving these children a chance to laugh, play, and be kids again after everything they have been through. To our incredible donors, thank you for making these moments possible. 💙✨

"And so I stood there deeply moved, facing four generations of the same family."

We are continuing to rebuild and strengthen northern Israel!

As part of a NIS 1.25 million initiative by Keren Hayesod France and ASI to renovate 40 shelters in the north, the first renovated shelter was officially inaugurated this week in Kiryat Shmona.

This shelter was dedicated to the memory of Dr. Gil Taïeb z"l, founder and president of ASI and a leader of the French Jewish community. The ceremony was attended by his wife Karen and family, Kiryat Shmona Mayor Avihay Shteren, Keren Hayesod Europe Region Director Dani Kaplan, ASI representatives, and delegates from Israel and France.

Renovating these shelters is a message of hope, resilience, and support for local residents. We at Keren Hayesod remain fully committed to continuing the rehabilitation of the North and ensuring a safe, secure future for these communities.

Dani Kaplan: "When Karen, his widow, and their children unveiled the monument, his image was revealed to all of us: a metal sculpture in the shape of Gil's silhouette. His grandchildren, aged two to seven, approached it in wonder. The first one lovingly hugged the leg of the sculpture, and one by one, the others followed. At that moment, I understood once again the incredible importance of family giving. Giving like this is not just an act of kindness, but a powerful tool for education, imparting values, and ensuring continuity. Standing there, I was deeply moved to see four generations of the same family. To the Taïeb family: you are an inspiration to us all."

May Dr. Taïeb's memory be a blessing.

Fulfilling Herzl’s Vision: The Remains of His Grandparents Are on Their Way to Burial in Israel. After four years of determined effort and 77 years after the reburial of Benjamin Ze’ev Herzl in Israel, a historic mission is now complete: the remains of Herzl’s grandparents are being brought to their final resting place on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, alongside their grandson and other members of the family. A delegation from our partner, the World Zionist Organization - ההסתדרות הציונית העולמית, is working on transferring the remains in accordance with Jewish law, ahead of their flight to Israel. This is a meaningful moment of closure for both the nation and the family. It is a historic tribute to the roots of the Zionist vision and the fulfillment of the final wishes of the founder of modern political Zionism. Photos by Oz Ben Abu

Often referred to as the Jewish Day of Love, Tu Be'Av is an ancient holiday with a rich history:

🍇 In ancient times, Tu Be'Av marked the beginning of the grape harvest and was celebrated as a day of matchmaking and renewal.

👩🏼‍❤️‍👨🏻 An Equal Beginning: Unmarried women in Jerusalem would wear borrowed white dresses so that no one could distinguish between rich and poor. They gathered to dance in the vineyards, building relationships based on shared values rather than social status.

🫱🏽‍🫲🏼 A day of Reconciliation: Historically, Tu Be'Av marked the lifting of the ancient ban on inter-tribal marriage. Young people were allowed to choose partners from any Tribe of Israel, fostering harmony and togetherness across the nation.

Today, Tu Be'Av is a reminder that strength lies in love, solidarity, and mutual responsibility. At Keren Hayesod, we celebrate the deep bond that unites the global Jewish family every single day.

Happy Tu Be'Av! 💙

"By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, we wept, when we remembered Zion."
On Tisha B'Av, as we mark the destruction of the Temple, we reflect on the painful cost of internal division. The lesson of our history is clear: our greatest strength lies in our unity. At Keren Hayesod, one of our core missions is to bridge geographic, social, and cultural gaps to bring the global Jewish community together. Thank you for partnering with us to build a stronger, united future for our people worldwide 🕯️

Today, we honor the memory of the legendary Israeli artist, Yaacov Agam Z"L, marking 30 days since his passing.

As a true pioneer of kinetic art and an Israel Prize laureate, Agam redefined how we perceive art, using color and movement to create a captivating dynamic experience. His iconic work has left an indelible mark on the Israeli landscape, including the famous colorful facade of Tel Aviv's Dan Hotel and the beloved fountain at Dizengoff Square.

Agam held a deeply meaningful place in Keren Hayesod's history, having worked closely with us over the years. In 2020, he uniquely honored our shared journey by designing the official logo for Keren Hayesod's centenary.

May his memory and his extraordinary artistic legacy continue to be a blessing. 🕯️
