When Jesus compared the Kingdom of God to a mustard seed, His audience would have been surprised.

This was not a prized plant. It spread quickly and was difficult to contain.

That is exactly the point. God’s Kingdom may start small, but once it takes root, it cannot be ignored.

“I am the true vine.” 🍇

To Jesus’ first listeners, those words carried a deeper meaning than we often realize.

The image of the vine was already woven throughout Israel’s story. So when Jesus used it to describe Himself, He was not choosing a random metaphor. He was revealing His place within that story.

And then He gives a simple invitation: abide in Me.

You may know the story of the Prodigal Son, but Jesus’ first audience heard much more than a story about forgiveness.

A younger son demanding his inheritance was a public rejection of his father and family. And when he finally returned, it meant far more than simply saying sorry.

Did you know the Hebrew word for “spirit” is deeply connected to breath and wind?

The first time it appears in the Bible is not in Acts, but in Genesis, when the Spirit of God hovered over the waters at creation.
The Spirit of God was present from the very beginning and is still moving today.
